The Heart of Christmas - Week 2

Hi everyone, I hope you're enjoying your day. I cannot believe we are almost half way through the year! It has gone something like this...January, February, March, BLINK, June! And before we know it, July, BLINK-Christmas! So it seems that there is no time like the present to get started on making our cards.

Our lovely team leader at Art with Heart, Claire Daly, invited our members to join her in creating and posting some Christmas inspiration, weekly, between now and the end of November. What a great incentive to get those Christmas cards made and stashed away ready for posting. Family and friends will be so impressed at how organized we are! So grab that cuppa, put your feet up and enjoy viewing all of the wonderful creations our team members are sharing with you.
Click on Claire's name above to see who else has joined in, for this weeks inspiration.

For my card, I have combined the gorgeous Lemon Lime Twist with the equally gorgeous Berry Burst.  Just two of our fabulous 2017-2019 In Colours.

I just love how well these colours work together and it gives a fresh new look to the card as I've stepped away from the traditional red and green. I have used the Christmas Stockings Thinlits dies for the main image and then stamped the Merry Christmas sentiment from the matching Hang Your Stocking stamp set onto Whisper White Cardstock and using our Layering Circle Framelits dies to cut out a circle and scalloped backing circle in Berry Burst. I punched 2 Classic Labels and just overlapped them slightly to create the elongated look. I have applied dimensionals to the stocking and sentiment for a little lift.

The sentiment inside reads - Wishing you a season filled with love and happiness.

The solid stocking was cut from Lemon Lime Twist and the filigree layer from Berry Burst. And don't throw away those tiny swirly pieces, they are perfect to add as little accents.
The cuff, heel and toe were cut from our Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper and I've added the smallest of our Glitter Enamel Dots in the palest shade of Berry Burst just under the sentiment.

I really enjoyed making this card, I think it's fun, bright and cheerful!

Thanks for stopping by. Be sure to check out the other team members creations as we share with you the Heart of Christmas.

Until next time...
Happy Crafting!
