The Heart of Christmas - Week 23

Hi crafting friends and welcome again to The Heart of Christmas from the Art with Heart Team.
We're up to Week 23 and counting down to our last posting in this series, which will be on Wednesday the 29th of November.

I have seen quite a lot of cards recently of Christmas wreaths made using the sunflower stamp out of the 'Painted Harvest' set, so I just had to make one too.

I'm really happy with the result.
I used Lemon Lime Twist and Tranquil Tide inks for the wreath and I heat embossed the berries in copper - I love this colour combination! My card base is Crumb Cake, a perfect match with the Foil Frenzy Specialty DSP, in the Lemon Lime Twist stripe. The wreath and the sentiment were both stamped onto Crumb Cake, with the sentiment stamped in Tranquil Tide. I cut the wreath out with the largest Stitched Shape square and used the Everyday Label Punch for the sentiment from the 'Labels to Love' stamp set. For the layering behind the sentiment, I punched out two Everyday Labels, in TT and LLT, and then cut these in half and offset both of them on each side using some Tombow glue to adhere. I wrapped a piece of 1/4" Ombre Ribbon in Lemon Lime Twist around the Foil Frenzy layer and placed the sentiment over the top of this with dimensionals. A couple of the Faceted Gold Gems finish off the bottom half of the card.

Close up shot of the wreath with the sweet ombre ribbon bow. Dimensionals are added to the back of the Stitched Shape square.

I didn't stamp on the inside of the card as I think the front sentiment says it all, however it needed something, so I added a layer of Crumb Cake and a narrow and wide strip of the Foil Frenzy to the top and bottom. I really think this looks great and leaves a lot more room to write a personal message.

Well folks that's it for this week, be sure to check back here next Wednesday for my Week 24 project.

Head over to Claire's blog now to see her Week 23 creation and what the other ladies in our team have made this week as well.

Until next time.....
Stay happy & stay crafty! 😘
