Welcome friends to tonight's Colour Creations Blog Hop where our featured colour is Cajun Craze.
Cajun Craze 6" x 6" DSP from the Regals Collection.
Cajun Craze is not a colour I would normally work with for my paper projects, maybe as a complimentary colour but certainly not the main one. But that's one of the things I am really enjoying about our weekly colour creations hop, it challenges me to use colours that I normally wouldn't.
Unfortunately, we all need to send these types of cards and just as difficult as it can be to make a masculine card, I find that sympathy cards can be a challenge too. Thinking of an image or a sentiment or colour to use can be quite hard. With this card though, I felt I was on the right track with the Nature's Poem DSP as the recipient, whose husband has just recently passed away, are lovers of the great outdoors and enjoyed many camping trips with their family and friends.
I've made a Z-Fold card using Thick Whisper White and added panels of Cajun Craze cardstock and one of the lovely leaf patterns. The sentiment is from the 'Itty Bitty Greetings' stamped in Memento ink and punched out with the Classic Label punch and then offset layered onto another two labels in Cajun Craze and Tranquil Tide.
Using one of the leaf images from the 'Painted Harvest' stamp set I stamped tone on tone in Tranquil Tide. Stamping full strength then again gives you the darker and lighter tones. I punched these out with the Leaf punch and glued just the stems down and added the double bow of Linen Thread with a glue dot. A touch of Wink of Stella adds a subtle shimmer to the leaves, almost like early morning dew.
I've stamped the butterfly from the 'Painted Glass' stamp set in Tranquil Tide onto Mint Macaron and some vellum and die-cut with the coordinating framelit. I stamped the leaf onto the writing panel, stamping off first so the images were softer.
Thank you for stopping by tonight.
