AWH Colour Creations Blog Hop

Hi stamping friends.
Can you believe that we're already up to Week 13 of our Colour Creations hop?!
The Art with Heart team are showcasing each of the Stampin' Up! colours, alphabetically, every Tuesday night, ending on May 28th next year with our last colour. It's a wonderful way to challenge our minds and creativity to use colours we don't often, or in some cases, never use, and hope that you might find some inspiration from seeing our projects.
Tonight we're sharing our Crumb Cake creations.

Crumb Cake 6" x 6" DSP Pack from our Neutrals Collection

Crumb Cake is my all time favourite Stampin' Up! colour, so I was really excited to make my project for tonight's hop. Best thing is, it turned out exactly how I wanted it too!

I've paired Crumb Cake with Very Vanilla for my card. I did initially start with Whisper White, but when I added the lace trim it just didn't look right, so I started again using the very vanilla. The lovely vase and flowers come from the 'Varied Vases' stamp set, and I punched the vase out with the coordinating punch. After stamping the flower and heat embossing with white emboss powder, I fussy-cut them out. They are tiny, and a bit fiddly, but so worth it.

In this close up photo you can see the detail in the new embossing folder, the buffalo check stamp and the linen trim from the Holiday Catalogue. I know that I'm excited for my customers to see the new catalogue. Don't forget to ask your demonstrator for a copy.
Even though I stamped the flowers onto crumb cake cardstock, I decided to colour in with my Stampin' Blends. I used the light crumb cake on the outer petals and the dark one in the centre. It actually did make a difference to the overall colour of the flowers. The sentiment is from 'Itty Bitty Greetings' and is punched out with the Classic Label punch. I made the label shorter by re-inserting it back into the punch and punching close to the wording. I almost forgot to mention that I've been colouring my rhinestones again and of course this time it was with the dark crumb cake Stampin' Blend marker.

This card reminds me of an old country kitchen with pressed tin ceiling, gingham tablecloth and a vase of freshly picked flowers from the garden. I can almost smell the scones cooking in the oven.....

Products I've used from the Holiday Catalogue.

  • Tin Tile Dynamic TIEF
  • 3/16" Braided Linen Trim
  • Buffalo Check Background Stamp
