Heart of Christmas Week 7

Hello stamping friends, welcome to Week 7 of the Heart of Christmas with the Art with Heart team.

The gorgeous Poppy Parade was the colour I chose for my Christmas card this week, and that's because I have used the Santa's Workshop Specialty DSP. This lovely shade of red is a coordinating colour for the fun and whimsical designs, however for tonight's card I chose one of the reverse patterns.
Using my large letter framelits, I cut out the letters to make up the word Merry, and stuck these onto a panel of whisper white that I embossed with the Swirls & Curls TIEF. On the top and bottom of this panel I stuck down a narrow strip of gold glimmer paper, (this is the retired one, but we have new glimmer paper in the annual catalogue). The three snowflake shapes are die-cut from the coordinating framelits in the Signs of Santa bundle. What's difficult to see in the photo is the embossing on the card front, true to its name, I embossed it with the Subtle Dynamic TIEF.
Christmas was heat embossed with black embossing powder and die-cut with the banner die from the Petals and More thinlits dies. The black rhinestones are retired, but you could colour our clear ones with a black sharpie. In the centre of the middle 'R' I added a gold faceted gem.

In this photo above, you can see a little more of the texture you get from the subtle embossing folder and the shine from the black heat embossing. The Christmas sentiment is from the Peaceful Poinsettia stamp set. The stamp itself says Christmas Wishes, but I just masked off the word wishes before inking with my versamark.

Thanks for stopping by tonight. Join us again next week as we share our Week 8 projects with you.

Here's Claire's link to check out what she and the other girls have created for tonight's Heart of Christmas.

With Love & Sympathy

Hello crafting friends.
A lovely customer and friend of mine, recently, and very suddenly, lost her wonderful husband. Today, we had a catch up and I gave her this card.

These are the saddest cards to make and give. I love the simplicity of this card, and not only is it given with love and sympathy, it is also made with love and sympathy.

I chose a thick Whisper White card base to hold the Lovely Floral embossed layer with the stamped sentiment from Itty Bitty Greetings in black Memento ink. A single pearl was the only embellishment needed.

Hold your loved ones close and always let them know how much you love and appreciate them.

Thanks for stopping by tonight.

Holiday Catalogue - AWH Team - September Blog Hop

Hello & welcome stamping friends.
Tonight the Art with Heart team are sharing creative projects featuring products from the 2018 Holiday Catalogue. We hope our blog hop tonight, inspires you to get creative, and make some fabulous Christmas creations too! If you would like a copy of the Holiday Catalogue, just ask any of us girls on the blog hop and we will get in touch with you.

For my project, I decided to make a gift bag with a matching mini jotter pad and pen set.
Until my order arrives later this week I'm working with minimal supplies, so there's a mix of products from both the Holiday and Annual Catalogues.

One of the things I really enjoy about the Holiday Catalogue is that it's not all about Christmas. There are some gorgeous "non Christmassy" products in it as well that can be used for birthday's and other occasions. So I decided to use the beautiful Frosted Floral Specialty DSP and one of the Boxwood Wreaths Embellishments. These products are part of the Frosted Floral Suite on pages 36-37 in the catalogue. The Designer Series Paper pack is divine! The designs are printed onto shimmery white paper and each pattern is so beautiful.

I shared a similar bag to this one in a blog post here. I've made this one a lot smaller to hold the jotter pad and pen. The base of the bag is made from Blackberry Bliss cardstock and I've complimented this with Mint Macaron, as you can see in the scalloped circle behind the stamped greeting. I attached the boxwood wreath with glue dots around the stitched circle greeting and covered where the two ends met with a bow made from the Whisper White metallic-edge ribbon. The greeting on the bag is from the Time For Tea stamp set, and the jotter pad greeting is from Itty Bitty Greetings. Both are stamped in Blackberry Bliss.

The jotter and mini pens were just discount shop purchases. I even managed to push a little scrolled piece of the DSP down into the barrel of the pen. I covered the pad with Mint Macaron and another piece that I embossed with the Tufted 3D Dynamic TIEF. I love the look of the Blackberry Bliss with Mint Macaron. I had a few retired metallic enamel shapes left over and this is the bit of bling you can see in each of the corners on the jotter pad. There are some new Epoxy Droplets that are a part of this Frosted Floral Suite, and they look very similar to the retired ones above, so that's why I used them here.

You can see from the photo above, how nicely the jotter pad and pen fit inside the bag.
If you have any questions about the project just send me an email and I'll be happy to answer them for you.

Thanks for joining us on our hop tonight. If you're already hopping then you may have come to me from the blog of our lovely and talented team member, Monika O'Neill, but hops are full circles so you can start anywhere and just click the 'next blog' button at the end of each blog post to get back to where you started.

Following on from me now, is the equally lovely and talented Sharon Davern, and I can't wait to see what project she has created.

If you find a broken link or have come to this blog hop from a different entry point, below is a list of tonight's participants.

Heart of Christmas Week 6

Hello & welcome to Week 6 of the Heart of Christmas from the
Art with Heart team.

I've gone for a little touch of elegance on my card tonight.

This gorgeous pattern is one from the All is Bright DSP pack. There are some beautiful photographic images in the pack and this one screamed elegance to me.
I've used the pinecones and leaves from the Pretty Pines Thinlits dies and the sweet bow from that set and added them to a scalloped circle on a gold foil stitched shape circle.

The Merry Christmas greeting is from the photopolymer Star of Light stamp set in the Annual Catalogue, and it's been heat embossed in gold.

I love this banner shape die. It's from the Petals and More Thinlits dies. The gold foil is the actual size and for the greeting I placed the die close to the merry and cut, then put it back into the die with the other end close to the 's' of christmas and cut just the end. Then I trimmed top and bottom with my paper snips. Of course I have to have my obligatory bit of bling with my rhinestones.
*For my scalloped circle and one of the leaves, I have used a retired glimmer paper, which is why I didn't include it in the product list below, however there is a new glimmer paper called 'Sparkle', and I know this would be just as gorgeous as the retired one. It's available in our Annual Catalogue.

Inside the card I glued a narrow strip of the DSP that I attached to a strip of gold foil with about an 1/8" showing at the top.

Each week I really look forward to seeing what the other girls from the team have created for their Heart of Christmas projects and of course you can see them too just by using the link to Claire's blog below.
