Think Pink - AWH Team - October Blog Hop



Hello everyone and welcome to our October blog hop!

Tonight the Art with Heart team are sharing projects featuring the colour pink.
We hope our blog hop inspires you to get creative using the various shades of pink that Stampin' Up! offer in our collection of 53 different colours.
With that many colours, there's something to suit everyone's colour cravings, but tonight it's all about our pinks!

Lets get started.


I'm sharing two cards tonight and both feature Powder Pink, which is one of our 2017-2019 In Colours. 

On my first card I spritzed the front of the card base and daisy with some Isocol and Frost White Shimmer Paint, it adds such a soft and pretty sparkle. I embossed the Whisper White layer with the Subtle TIEF and backed it with a piece of silver foil. The daisy from the Daisy Delight stamp set was stamped twice in Powder Pink and punched out with the Daisy Punch. The darker pink centre was sponged in Melon Mambo. I added it to the stitched square with dimensionals. I punched out two leaf sprigs from silver foil with the Leaf Punch and just ran a bit of Tombow glue to the lower end behind each stem and stuck them under the flower.
The sentiment is heat embossed in silver and punched out with the Classic Label Punch. By re-inserting the label back into the punch you can make it smaller and I also trimmed the top and bottom of it with my paper snips, then I backed this with another one in pink, but I used it full size.


The other embellishments I've used are, some silver metallic thread, artisan pearls and a clear faceted gem for the flower centre.
The DSP I've used on both cards is the 2017-2019 In-Colour 6" x 6" paper stack.

Onto the second card.


Similar layout to my first card except on this card I used the smallest stitched square framelit x four and a melon mambo daisy. Again, I spritzed the flower - see the close up photo below.


This time the sentiment is embossed with copper embossing powder, this really brings out the pretty pink tones in it.

I added just a single faceted gem for a bit more sparkle, but that was all the embellishing I felt this card needed.

    Gorgeous cards Caroline, but the softness of the first card is my favourite. I love the depth of colour with the Melon Mambo centres!

    Both such pretty cards Caroline, but I just love how you have used the little stitched squares as the background layer. Such a simple but beautiful design. Great work and I'm so happy you decided to start this blog and share your beautiful creations.

    That is beautiful layering. I love the 4 squares underneath. Awesome showcase of the Subtle embossing folder too. I bet the shimmery sparkle looks lovely on your card.

    Just gorgeous cards Caroline, simply stunning and I love the subtle embossing folder I will have to get that out. I like the 4 little squares too they just set everything off perfectly!
