AWH Colour Creations - Week 46 - Smoky Slate

Hi everyone!
Welcome to this weeks Colour Creations blog hop with the Art with Heart team. Here we are at Week 46 and our featured colour tonight is Smoky Slate.

I love Smoky Slate. It's a lovely, silvery grey with almost a sheen to it.

Smoky Slate 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper - Neutrals Collection

I've gone for a very quick and easy card for tonight's hop.

To a Whisper White cardbase, I added a panel of the Smoky Slate cardstock that I die-cut the centre from with the Rectangle Stitched Framelits. I was going to add my Happiness Blooms Memories & More Card Pack panel straight onto the white background, but then decided to replace the centre of the rectangle and pop up the focal image on dimensionals. I glued the panel onto some silver foil first.
The only other addition to the front of the card were the three pearls.
And there you go - quick, simple and easy.

Happiness Blooms Memories & More Card Pack

Our Memories & More card packs are ideal if you're in need of a quick make card. Choose a design that has a sentiment and your work is almost done.

*Note: If you were thinking of getting this pack, it is on Low Inventory so get in quick!

For the inside of the card, I chose one of the larger cards from the pack and simply added the white writing panel to echo the front of the card.
I stamped the sentiment in Smoky Slate and it comes from the Well Said stamp set in the Occasions Catalogue.

Well that's it from me tonight, hop over to Catherine's blog to see all of the other Smoky Slate creations from the team.

After tonight, we have just 4 colours left in our Colour Creations blog hop! I hope you'll check in each week to see what the team creates with the remaining colours.

AWH Colour Creations - Week 44 - Sahara Sand

Hi everyone and welcome to Week 44 of our Colour Creations blog hop with the Art with Heart team.

Striking a pose this week is the lovely neutral colour of Sahara Sand.

Sahara Sand 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper - Neutrals Collection

In fact my card features all neutral colours, with the addition of Mossy Meadow and Night of Navy on a Whisper White card base, in my absolute favourite square sized card.

Even though I think my Night of Navy ink pad needs re-inking, I really like the effect the flowers have going on here. The flower images have a water colour look to them, and actually, the less "juicy" your ink pad is, the better effect you'll get when stamping.  The images and sentiment are from the First Frost stamp set that carried over from the 2018 Holiday Catalogue, and I purchased the stamp set and matching framelits as a bundle at the time. The bundle is no longer available, however they can be purchased separately. A set certainly worthy of a place in your collection - in my opinion.

I embossed a piece of Sahara Sand with the Lace 3D embossing folder and wrapped a length of the 1/2" Night of Navy gingham ribbon around it. I stuck this piece onto a panel of Night of Navy and then attached it to the front of the card. I stamped the stem and leaves in Mossy Meadow onto a piece of Whisper White and cut this out with a stitched oval die. Then I sponged some Sahara Sand, lightly, over the image to give it an aged look. I almost ended up with it looking like Very Vanilla cardstock! Anyway, I stuck this onto a layering oval in Night of Navy and attached one of the flowers with tombow glue and the other with a dimensional. The oval was added to the front using dimensionals. I stamped the leaves tone on tone onto their matching cardstock and sat them both sides of the focal image with a touch of tombow and a few glue dots. The sentiment was die-cut with a stitched rectangle and popped on dimensionals. Lastly, I added three of the basic adhesive-backed sequins from the Annual Catalogue and the sweetest little bow of gingham ribbon.

Here's the inside of the card. The sentiment is from the Best Bunny stamp set, stamped in Sahara Sand and the flowers look lovely here I think, again in Night of Navy.

Well that's it from me tonight, thanks for stopping by.

Hop over to Catherine's blog here, to see the rest of tonight's Sahara Sand creations from the team.

'How Sweet It Is' Gift Bag

Hello & welcome everyone.

I thought I'd share a gift bag with you today.
I made this bag to go with a birthday card that I made for my friend Annmaree.

The bag is one designed by Linda Parker of Papercraft With Crafty. I just made a couple of changes to mine. The finished bag measures 8 1/2" x 2 1/4" and 7 1/2" tall.

This pattern is from the How Sweet It Is Designer Series Paper.

For the tag, I fussy cut one of the cup cakes from another sheet of the DSP, and added some retired enamelled glitter dots for the sprinkles. I got this idea from Judy May, one of our lovely Art With Heart team members. Thanks Judy.

The sentiment is heat embossed in silver and it's from the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set.

Here is Annmarees' card that I made for Week 28 of the AWH team Colour Creations weekly blog hop. Melon Mambo was our colour that week.

I really love making gift bags to coordinate with my cards.

Annmaree, myself and another friend enjoyed a yummy lunch today for her birthday tomorrow, and of course she loved both the bag and matching card.

Happy Birthday Annmaree!
