Heart of Christmas - September 2020

Hello and welcome everyone, to this month's Heart of Christmas from the Art with Heart Team.

Our lovely team member, Judy May, is hosting this monthly showcase of festive creations from members of the team. We hope that our projects will help to inspire your own Christmas crafting.

Here's my card.

I recently purchased some gorgeous bundles from the August-December Mini Catalogue, and I couldn't wait to start using them.
One of them is the Coming Home Bundle and I've combined it with the Wreath Builder Dies from the Annual Catalogue to make my card. Such is the versatility of Stampin' Up! products, that everything can be mixed and matched to create the perfect project.

I love using non-traditional colours on Christmas cards, so I chose the lovely Balmy Blue and teamed it with the deep, rich colour of Night of Navy. I used the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder to emboss a piece of Whisper white card stock and added it to a slightly larger square of Balmy Blue Glimmer Paper, the sparkle is just perfect for Christmas projects, before adding the whole piece to my Whisper White square card base.

The wreath was made with glimmer paper and vellum. I didn't want to completely cover the glimmer paper with the vellum, so I snipped off what I didn't want and used smaller pieces to add them where I wanted. I used glue dots to stick it down. The sentiment is from the Itty Bitty Christmas stamp set, and stamped in Night of Navy ink. I used a Stitched Nested Labels die to cut it out, and it's popped up on dimensionals. I love the little Night of Navy heart. The 3/8" Whisper White Metallic-Edge ribbon was coloured with the dark Night of Navy Stampin' Blend marker.

The little house is from the Home Together Dies. It's part of the Coming Home Bundle, although it can be purchased separately. I exchanged the Balmy Blue heart for a glimmer paper one.

Inside the card I added a strip of embossed Whisper White and glimmer paper, and three little Christmas trees.

I had fun stamping on the envelope too.

The gorgeous blue faceted gems from the Mini Catalogue were the perfect accent for my final touch of bling.

Thank you for stopping by. You'll find a list of the products I've used on my card, below.

  1. Caroline, this is an absolutely delightful card! I love the idea of a wreath with a little house on it (have been meaning to try that myself, but haven't done so yet). The inlaid glimmery heart in the house is adorable. The ribbon coloured navy is outstanding. I just love all the pretty touches on your card; you've executed it beautifully!
