AWH Team - Colour Creations Week 34 - Petal Pink

Hello and welcome everyone.

It's Week 34 of the Colour Creations Showcase from the Art with Heart team.
Tonight our featured colour is Petal Pink from the Subtles Collection of Stampin' Up! colours.

This 'fleshy' pink has a real vintage antique look to it, and it's perfect when teamed with gold and lace.

Here's my card.

One of my favourite card bases to work with is a square. This is a 4 7/8" square card.
I stamped and cut the small spray of flowers from the Art Gallery Bundle and it was the first time I played with the gold leafing. It was so much fun! There's lots of texture on the card courtesy of the Painted Texture and Subtle 3D embossing folders.

Look at all of the shimmery gold elements. I'm really loving the look of the double embossing with the Subtle 3D EF, and I've been using it a lot lately. It's simple to do. You just emboss in one direction first, then turn the embossed piece 90 degrees and run the folder through your machine again.

I've made this card for my husbands step-mum who turns 87 in February. The lace really adds an old-fashioned charm and the vellum doily helps to soften the look between the embossed matted layer and scalloped square. The sentiment is from the Art Gallery stamp set and I used Soft Suede classic ink. I cut this out free hand and glued it to a gold foil die-cut element from the Floral Gallery dies, then I finished by adding two of the gorgeous gold gilded gems.

On the inside I just added a strip of Petal Pink card stock embossed with the Painted Texture 3D EF over a slightly larger piece of gold foil. That's all the inside needed really.

I'm really enjoying creating with this beautiful suite of products from the Jan-June Mini Catalogue.
You'll find a full list of all the products I've used on my card at the end of this blog post.

Well, that's it from me tonight everyone. Thanks for stopping by.

I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of the team's Petal Pink projects. Our lovely hostess Catherine, has a list of tonight's participants on her blog.
