AWH Team - Colour Creations Week 39 - Purple Posy

Hello and welcome everyone.

It's Week 39 of the Colour Creations Showcase from the Art With Heart team.
Tonight's featured colour is Purple Posy, from our soon to retire In-Colours of 2019-2021.

Purple Posy is a powdery soft, lilac colour. The perfect companion to Gorgeous Grape and Highland Heather. On my card I've paired Purple Posy with Highland Heather and highlights of silver.

I love this beautiful single bloom from the Art Gallery stamp set.
The two-step stamp allows you to colour and highlight with lots of options. You can emboss, as I have done with silver embossing powder, stamp in a light colour and highlight in a darker shade with ink pads or add gold leafing. However you choose to colour and embellish, it's heaps of fun.

Art Gallery Bundle from Stampin' Up!

The flower and sentiment were stamped in Highland Heather onto Purple Posy card stock, then each of these elements were cut out with coordinating dies from the Floral Gallery Dies. If you purchase the stamp set and dies as a bundle, you'll save 10%. It's part of the Fine Art Floral Suite in the Stampin' Up! Jan-June Mini Catalogue.

I embossed the stem in silver embossing powder too. Behind the flower head, I added a watercolour wash of Highland Heather. In this softer shade it almost looks like Purple Posy.
I also added splatters of colour by using my Purple Posy Stampin' Blend marker.

On the inside of the card, I added a strip of Basic White card stock that I embossed and brushed on more of the Highland Heather watercolour wash.

Because the Gray Granite shimmer ribbon has a lovely pinkish hue, I thought it was a great match for the Purple Posy theme. Here, I wrapped it over and around the layer of Golden Garden specialty acetate and the embossed panel, tying a separate bow and adding it last. The great thing about this acetate is that you can use both sides. One side is gold, the other is silver. And just a reminder, it does have a protective film on it so you need to remove that before applying it to your project.

I coloured the three different sized clear rhinestones with the dark Purple Posy Stampin' Blend marker. Don't you just love being able to customize your embellishments to suit your projects - I know I do.
I'll have a list of all the products I've used on my card at the end of this blog post.

Well, that's it from me tonight everyone. Thanks for stopping by. I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of the team's Purple Posy projects.

Our lovely hostess Catherine, will have a list of tonight's participants over on her blog.
