Hello and welcome to the Colour Creations blog hop from the Art with Heart Team.
Tonight's spotlight colour is Magenta Madness from the 2020-2022 Stampin' Up! In Colour Collection.
I've made a Frameless Shaker card and they are so easy to make! I first saw this idea on Instagram a few weeks ago, but only briefly and I didn't take a lot of notice. Credit goes to Ilda Dias. Then recently Patty Bennett made one on her YouTube channel, so I had to try it for myself.
Instead of using a Stampin' Up! Clear Envelope as Patty did, I had a pack of cellophane bags that were the perfect size for the regular card base I make. A piece of acetate is slid inside the bag and then sequins are added. The opening is then enclosed inside the card base that is turned upside down to normal, and sealed together to form a base. This means that the acetate lined bag becomes the front of the card - so clever!
On the inside I added a piece of Magenta Madness card stock over the top of the Basic White base. I randomly stamped tone on tone flowers from the In Bloom stamp set all over, and die cut a Scalloped Contour rectangle for the writing panel, adding a small Pierced Bloom flower in Magenta Madness and gold foil leaves.
I decorated the front with a larger Pierced Bloom, stem and leaves, and the white heat embossed sentiment. Lastly I added a gold bow from the Simply Elegant trim pack and a gilded gem for the flower centre. The sequins are from the Sequins for Everything pack, and contain 4 different colour combinations in green, metallic, orange and red. I've used the metallic ones which are a mix of gold, silver and white.
The elements on the front of the card were stuck down with a mix of adhesive sheets, glue dots and tear & tape. These work so well and you can barely see the adhesive on the underside. I wouldn't recommend wet glue.
As you can see, the card stands perfectly for display.
That's it from me tonight everyone, thanks for stopping by.
Let's go see what the rest of the team have created with Magenta Madness for Week 24 of the CCBH.
Our next creative and talented team member is, Catherine Proctor. Catherine is also our lovely host for this blog hop and she will have the full list of all tonight's participants on her blog.

ReplyDeleteSuch a fun, funky, mod card. The shaker really suits this colour and style of card.
ReplyDeleteAha, now I understand how the shaker piece is so strong with the window sheet inside! I too had seen these and thought they were lovely but without undertanding the construction, I couldn't see how it would be so solid. Your card is so beautiful with the pink flowers and the gold stems!
ReplyDeleteOh wow what a beautiful card Caroline and thanks for the explanation on how to get such a strong front. Just lovely
ReplyDeleteI had no idea this was a "thing" but now I've seen it I'm so glad it is a thing! What a great card design this is, Caroline, I love the way you've really embraced this powerful pink.
