Colour Creations Week 30 - Mossy Meadow

Happy New Year everyone! And welcome to Week 30 of the Colour Creations blog hop from the Art with Heart Team.

We are continuing on with our projects featuring Stampin' Up!'s exclusive range of colours to help inspire your own creativity.
Our spotlight colour tonight is Mossy Meadow, a member of the Neutrals collection.

Mossy Meadow is most certainly not a green that I often reach for, it's a really earthy green and I'm more a Granny Apple Green or Garden Green kind of girl. That being said, I am very pleased with how my project turned out and I hope you like it too.

I've gone for a clean & simple design, leaving Mossy Meadow to really shine. I stamped the single stem image from the Blessings of Home stamp set in Mossy Meadow and die cut with the coordinating Flowers of Home dies. I purchased as a bundle saving 10%.

To colour the image I used the Wink of Stella technique. If you're not familiar with this technique, it's where you use the Wink of Stella glitter pen to drag colour and blend it from the stamped image. I also applied Mossy Meadow ink directly from the pad onto an acrylic block and picked up extra colour to get the darker shading you can see on the stem and lower leaves.

It's a fun technique and adds such a lovely subtle sparkle from the Wink of Stella pen, leaving you with a really lovely effect on your project. It has a water coloured look but with lots of sparkle. I hope you'll give it a try.

This is a photo of the original image I was going to use on my card, but decided last minute to change it. You can see that any colour will work with this technique.

On the inside I stamped just a portion of the image in the lower right corner. That's all I felt it needed.

I've deliberately left it sentiment free as I'm waiting on an order of new product and I'll add one then.

See below for a list of the Stampin' Up! products I used to create my card. But for now that's it from me tonight everyone, thanks for stopping by.

I'm really excited to be back hopping with the girls from our Art with Heart Team. Let's go see more Mossy Meadow projects.

Our next creative and talented team member is, Andrea Sargent.

As always, our lovely host Catherine Proctor will have the complete list of all tonight's participants on her blog.

Stay safe and well. See you all again soon.

  2. Yes, Caroline, your card is just beautifully framed with all those white layers, love the clean look. The simple stamped image coloured using 'Stella' is beautiful and I don't know how you kanaged to photograph it and trap that glittery shine ;)

  3. Such a beautiful monochromatic creation, Caroline. I love the elegant simplicity of your design, allowing the stamped (and beautifully shimmery) image to shine. The crisp, clean, white layers, and the lovely brass butterflies, are also gorgeous components of your card. Lovely way to show off Mossy Meadow, even if it is not one of your favourite greens!

  4. Soft, subtle, stunning, Caroline! I love your crisp white layers and the way you have softened MM. I must try the wink of Stella technique.
