Colour Creations Week 42 - Shaded Spruce

Hello everyone and welcome to Week 42 of the Colour Creations blog hop from the Art with Heart Team.

Our projects tonight feature our spotlight colour for this week, Shaded Spruce - a member of the Regals Collection of Stampin' Up! colours.

I have recently picked up my crochet hook again after a long hiatus. So with refreshing my brain on stitch terminology, practising those stitches and reading patterns, plus life's little distractions such as grocery shopping and housework etc. it's no wonder I needed to make a quick and simple card for tonight's blog hop!

I stared at my Shaded Spruce stamp pad for the longest time trying to think of what I should make when I finally decided on some watercolour stripes to start with.

I love stripes! And these ones I created with the widest brush of our water painters. After the piece had dried I die-cut embossed with one of the Stitched with Whimsy dies, it adds a nice detail around the outside edge.

I've been enjoying creating cards with the medium daisy punch lately so I reached for it again this time. Using a stylus I drew lines along each petal for some texture and more detail.

For the flower centres I used the smallest centre die from the Pierced Blooms die set, adding them to the flowers with a dimensional. They were cut from Shaded Spruce card stock.

I'm pleased to say that the medium daisy punch is carrying over to the new 2022-2023 Annual Catalogue. I love the size of this daisy and have used it much more than the large daisy punch which is retiring soon.
The sentiment is stamped in Shaded Spruce and it's from the Sweet Strawberry stamp set, which retires with the end of our current catalogue on May 2nd. I added a loopy bow in silver twine and three Shaded Spruce rhinestones to finish off.

Don't forget to check out the 2021-2022 Annual Catalogue Last Chance Products Sale on now. Lots and lots of great discount bargains - some up to 50% off!

There are store links to each of the Stampin' Up! products I used to create my card below.

That's it from me tonight everyone, thanks so much for stopping by. It's time to hop to the next blog to see another Shaded Spruce project.

Theresa Gerrard, is our next creative and talented team member to share her creation with us.

As always our lovely host, Catherine Proctor, will have the complete list of all tonight's participants over on her blog.

Stay safe and well. See you all again next time. 🌻
