AWH Colour Creations Blog Hop

Hi friends, it's Week 16 of our Colour Creations blog hop.
Tonight the Art with Heart team are sharing creative projects using Early Espresso.

Early Espresso 6" x 6" DSP Pack from the Neutrals Collection

And I thought coming up with an idea for featuring yellow in a project was hard, it was nothing compared to choosing how to use Early Espresso for this weeks colour challenge, but I'm pretty pleased with my card. I was worried that I wouldn't be able to make it feminine enough and I didn't really want a masculine card at this point in time, (forgetting that my brother's birthday is this Friday - oops!), anyway this was what I ended up with and I think it's quite feminine after all.

The DSP is from the Share What You Love Specialty DSP pack, which is part of the Share What You Love Suite. Another product in this suite is the Lovely Floral Dynamic TIEF and I have made it my focal image, embossed onto a stitched square of Early Espresso. I chose Rich Razzleberry as the complimentary colour and that's what the greeting is stamped in. The flowers, in Rich Razzleberry and Early Espresso, are die-cut with the small flower die from the Springtime Impressions Thinlits. I wrapped a piece of the Polka Dot Tulle ribbon around the rectangle mat and added a bow to soften the whole look even more. I forgot to use the artisan pearls, another product in the suite, and used rhinestones instead for some bling.

Inside I added two narrow strips of the main dsp from the front of the card and a couple more of the die-cut flowers. I saved the centre's from each of the flowers and stuck them back inside but in opposite colours. Both the front greeting and inside sentiment are from the Varied Vases stamp set.

I'm really excited to see what the other girls from the team have made, and you can check them all out too by using Catherine's blog link below.

Thanks for stopping by tonight.

Oh, and P.S. don't worry, I'll make my brother a birthday card. 😉

Heart of Christmas Week 5

Hi stamping friends and welcome to Week 5 of the Heart of Christmas with the Art with Heart team.

If you're a regular visitor to my blog, you will know that I love making 3" x 3" note cards, and tonight that's exactly what I'm sharing with you. Actually they're Christmas gift tags, because you can never have enough tags at this time of year. Do you agree?

I made six tags, three each of two different colour-ways, using the gorgeous All is Bright DSP from the Holiday Catalogue, and presented them in a little box made from the Wood Crate Framelits Dies.

To make the wreath I used two scalloped circles from the Layering Circles Framelits. I chose the photographic pine sprigs with holly and baubles and the tree with fairy lights from the DSP pack for my wreaths. I just chose the images I wanted to see in the wreaths by basically "fussy cutting" with the Big Shot and dies. I wanted a little bit of red and gold in each one. They look quite effective I think.

The stitched square pattern behind the wreath is also from the DSP pack.

The sentiment is from Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set and I've used Real Red and Shaded Spruce for the inks. I hand coloured the rhinestones and the ribbon, which is a retired one, with our Stampin' Blends in the same colours I used for stamping the sentiment.

Here's a close up photo of the wood crate box. I stuck a piece of thick whisper white cardstock inside the base to make the box sturdier. I used the Classic Label punch for each of the sentiments and reinserted back into the side of the punch to flag the ends.

I think these little tags in a box would make a great item to sell at a market stall and they look really sweet presented in a cello bag tied with matching ribbon.
For the last few months at our class, I have been giving out a lucky door prize to my lovely attendees. I'm going to give this set of Christmas tags away at my September class for the prize.

Well, that's it from me tonight, thank you for stopping by.

AWH Colour Creations Blog Hop

Hi friends.
Are we really up to Week 15 of our Art with Heart team's Colour Creations blog hop?!
The answer is yes, we are. I cannot believe how fast the weeks are flying by. I hope you have been able to join us each week as we showcase another one of our Stampin' Up! colours.
Tonight we're sharing our Daffodil Delight projects.

Daffodil Delight 6" x 6" DSP pack from the Brights Collection

I have been wanting to use the Apron of Love stamp set and coordinating dies on a project for ages, but I couldn't quite get an idea happening, that was until this image came to me for this weeks hop.

I decided that I'm going to send this card to a friend to remind her to use her Bonus Days coupon codes this month on her orders. It's a good reminder to all of us to use our coupon codes that we received for our qualifying orders in August. You have from now until September 30th to redeem them, so don't miss out. I'm looking forward to using mine!
Now, back to the card.
To a Whisper White card base I added a piece of Daffodil Delight cardstock that I embossed with the Tin Tile Dynamic TIEF, this folder is already a favourite of mine. I rounded two opposite corners just for a bit of interest. The apron was stamped with the Buffalo Check background stamp, I LOVE gingham, so this won't be the last time you'll see me using it on a project. I decided to use Crumb Cake for the strings on the apron, as well as behind the stitched square and sentiment banner, a couple of the die-cut flowers and stamped flowers and sentiment, which is from the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set. I think it goes nicely with the Daffodil Delight.

Here's a couple of close-up pic's of some of the detail. Behind the white bakers twine and linen thread bow is another little Crumb Cake flower. Our basic rhinestones add the perfect little touch of bling!

After confessing last week that I'm not a fan of the colour yellow, I think I may have changed my mind just a little, because I really love this soft and pretty shade of our Daffodil Delight.

I can't wait to see what the other girls have created for tonight's hop.
