Hi everyone, Happy Wednesday!
Here we are at Week 9 of sharing some Christmas inspiration projects with you, the Art with Heart Team girls are doing this every Wednesday from now til the end of November.
Today my card is Pretty in Pink!
I just had to create a card in pink this week - Powder Pink to be exact, and a splash of Berry Burst.
When I first got my copy of the new Annual Catalogue in April at OnStage, I noticed the 'Merry Mistletoe' Stamp set but thought I would hold off purchasing any Christmas stamp sets until the Holiday Catalogue arrives, well, it didn't work...
After seeing some beautiful cards made using it, I gave in - and I'm so glad I did.
It is such an elegant set with gorgeous images and sentiments.
How regal does this reindeer look?
The card base is Thick Whisper White with a layer of Powder Pink and I have used the Fresh Florals DSP stack in three of the four designs, (who say's it has to be Christmas DSP?), I just cut random sizes and backed them with Whisper White which is cut 1/8" larger. I played with the placement of them until I was happy and adhered with the Multipurpose Liquid Glue, the reindeer is cut using the Stitched Shapes Ovals and backed with the Layering Ovals Framelits and then popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals. I've brushed Wink of Stella over him too, for some added sparkle.
Did you know that you can make a rectangle with the Square Stitched Shapes Framelits? This is what I did with the greeting. I made the usual Big Shot sandwich and then placed the top clear Big Shot Cutting Pad, about half way over the stamp, just covering the word Christmas, I ran that through the Big Shot and then positioned the die so that it sat below the word Wishes. You can actually feel where the die catches the section that has already been cut. Place the top cutting pad so that it just covers Wishes and run that through. It may take a little practice, but it's worth it to get that lovely rectangle shape. I think the addition of the Basic Rhinestones to the card gives it just enough sparkle.
Inside the card I stamped the lovely sentiment and reindeer again from the stamp set.
I can see myself making more Christmas cards with this set, it's gorgeous!
Don't forget to stop by again next week to see what the girls have created - in the mean time click here to see what our lovely Claire has made and a list of participants for this week. I'm sure you'll be inspired by what the girls are sharing - I always am.
Until next time...
Happy Crafting! 😊
