Hello friends.
The Art with Heart Team girls are back again tonight with another featured colour project for our Colour Creations weekly blog hop.
Tonight we're showcasing Blueberry Bushel.
2018-2020 In-Colour 6" x 6" DSP
My card tonight is a 5" square card.
For the central image I used a technique where you ink up the debossed plate of an embossing folder. You simply take the ink pad, Blueberry Bushel in this case, to the folder and press up and down until you get good coverage. Don't drag the ink pad along as you will end up with the drag lines showing on your image. So, just as you would ink up a stamp with the "ink to stamp" method, you apply the same rule to the folder. Place your piece of cardstock carefully on top of the inked plate, close the folder and run this through the Big Shot and reveal the "WOW"! I hope that helps you understand it a little more.
I love the result of this technique and how it makes the embossed image really pop!
After cleaning the ink off the EF, I embossed a 4 1/2" square of Whisper White and die-cut the inked piece with a circle from the layering framelits. I added dimensionals to both of these pieces, matching the patterns when placing on the Blueberry Bushel card front. I used the Detailed Trio Punch on the top right and bottom left corners.
The dimension is easier to see in this photo.
One of my favourite ribbons in the catalogue is the Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon and here I've paired it with the soft and pretty look of the Silver & Whisper White Baker's Twine. The birthday greeting is from 'Itty Bitty Greetings' and is punched out with the Classic Label punch and this is backed with Blueberry Bushel cardstock using the same punch. The small flower stems are stamped in 2nd and 3rd generation Blueberry Bushel as are the splashes of blue behind the punched sentiment. These images are from the 'Love What You Do' photopolymer stamp set. This set and the embossing folder are part of the Share What You Love Suite.
I brushed on some clear Wink of Stella to the centre of the large flower and also around its outline. Unfortunately it's not easy to see in the photo, but when it catches the light it's shimmer is so pretty. To three of the smaller flowers I added Pearl White adhesive backed sequins, they are so sweet.
