Welcome to Week 18 of the Colour Creations blog hop from the Art with Heart team.
Another week and another colour challenge. Tonight we are showcasing Fresh Fig, one of our 2017-2019 In Colours.
Fresh Fig from our 2017-2019 In Colour Collection
Using the colour coach, I decided to go with the combination of Melon Mambo and Soft Sea Foam, although when I almost had the card put together, I chose not to use Melon Mambo on it.
Can you see where I've used Soft Sea Foam?
When trying to decide on a design for my colour challenge projects, I firstly use my annual catalogue as a reference. I check what DSP packs I have, to see what colours are in them, and go from there. So for my card I chose the gorgeous Petal Promenade to work with as one of the coordinating colours in the pack is, Fresh Fig.
I scored the card front in the middle to give me a guide for where to place the Subtle TIEF as I only wanted one side embossed. I then stuck down a panel of DSP and Champagne Foil to the left hand side, I really love this little hint of foil behind the DSP. For the Fresh Fig greeting I used one of the stamps from the Lots of Happy Card Kit and die-cut with a stitched shapes oval and backed this with two ovals from the layering ovals framelits. The greeting is popped up on dimensionals, and the other ovals are stuck down with liquid glue. In the bottom left and top right hand corners on the DSP I placed a petal pink gem and added a bow of fresh fig 1/8" sheer ribbon underneath the greeting.
Have you found the Soft Sea Foam accent yet? If you haven't already, then this photo might help.
I forgot to mention that the scalloped oval is the lovely marbled pattern on the reverse side of the featured DSP. Doesn't it coordinate beautifully?
I've echoed the front of the card inside, by placing a narrow strip of the DSP and foil down the right hand side onto the writing panel of whisper white. I felt it didn't need a sentiment.
P.S. Did you find the Soft Sea Foam accent?
I'm sure you did, but just in case, it's the very subtle stamping on the stitched oval, I used the single flower stamp from the same set as the greeting.
Thanks for stopping by tonight.
