AWH Colour Creations - Week 22

Hello and welcome everyone!

Week 22 in our Art with Heart Colour Creations blog hop has team members sharing projects showcasing one of our 2018-2020 In Colours - Grapefruit Grove.

Grapefruit Grove 6" x 6" DSP 2018-2020 In Colours.

I created two projects for tonight's hop, here's the first one.

Using the colour coach, I chose the combination of Merry Merlot and Pool Party for my card.

The main matted pieces are Merry Merlot and then Grapefruit Grove that I embossed with the Subtle TIEF, and a piece of the Share What You Love DSP. I covered the join with the black glittered organdy ribbon and from this I also made the little bow knot for the flower stem. The stamped flower is from the Love What You Do stamp set, part of the Share What You Love Suite and the sentiment is from Varied Vases. I just did some simple layering with the stitched oval and layering oval framelits. I spritzed the entire card front with the frost shimmer paint before I added the layered sentiment, it's a nice contrast element against the subtle, sparkly background. Unfortunately it doesn't show up in the photo.

You might just be able to see the stamping of the small flowers on the embossed top panel. These flowers were stamped in second-generation Grapefruit Grove ink and are also from the Love What You Do stamp set. I stamped after I had embossed the panel and it worked well. I felt it needed something else there besides the embossing.

Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series Paper.

Here's my second creation.

I confess that I didn't actually make this box for tonight's hop, I made it ages ago. I wanted to try a 'No Glue - Fold Flat Box' and I just happened to grab Grapefruit Grove cardstock at the time. What I did do for the hop though, was to decorate it to showcase the colour. I used the Black Foil from the Holiday Catalogue, another pattern from the Share What You Love DSP and to compliment this, I heat embossed our Stampin' Up!® Statement Of My Heart stamp in black embossing powder.
I thought that this box would be a great "Welcome Pack" for a new team member.

Here's a list of what it could hold:

  • Snail Adhesive
  • Bone Folder
  • Paper Snips
  • Paper-Piercing Tool
And yes, they all fit inside because I tried it. Or, how about some gorgeous ribbon, pearls and doilies. What a lovely gift this would make!

That's it from me tonight, thanks for stopping by.
