Hi everyone, tonight the Art with Heart team are sharing Week 11 projects for the Heart of Christmas blog hop.
I hope our festive creations are helping to inspire your Christmas crafting.
Tonight I have a simple but sweet card to show you.
I found yet another square card layout on Youtube. I'm really loving these little square cards so much so, that I've set myself a personal challenge. For the remaining weeks of our Heart of Christmas hop, I'm going to make the same size card to see how many different looks I can get. It's going to be fun and I hope you'll enjoy seeing what I come up with each week.
When I said this was a simple card, I really meant simple. There's no stamping, just some die-cutting and embossing. I felt it didn't need a sentiment - reason one is it's definitely a Christmas card and reason two, I couldn't find one I was happy with and where to place it. Maybe you could suggest something for me.
I die-cut Santa with his coordinating framelit from the Santa's Workshop Specialty DSP and with my light Pool Party Stampin' Blend marker, I traced his shape before I stuck him down. It really makes him pop off the stitched square. Instead of dimensionals, I added glue dots to pop him up. This gives you a subtle lift without the height you would normally get if using dimensionals.
I used the Swirls & Curls TIEF, but before I ran it through the Big Shot I spritzed the cardstock with some Isocol and Frost White Shimmer Paint. Unfortunately the photo didn't pick this up, but it has this soft and subtle sparkle on it that is so pretty. I kept the inside simple as well by adding a narrow strip of the scalloped Poppy Parade edge with flocked dots from the Santa's Workshop DSP. You can just see this in the first photo.
Well, that's it from me. To see what the rest of the team have created tonight, just use Claire's blog link below.
