Hi everyone and welcome to Week 21 of the Colour Creations blog hop.
Tonight's featured colour is Granny Apple Green.
Granny Apple Green 6" x 6" DSP from our Brights Collection.
Granny Apple Green 6" x 6" DSP from our Brights Collection.
I found this sweet layout for a 4 1/4" square card on Youtube. The card measures 4 1/4" x 8 1/2" before folding in the middle - but this is a U.S. measurement for their A4 size cardstock. I made my card 4 1/8" square which means you get two from our A4 cardstock with a left-over piece that measures just over 3 1/2" x 8 1/4". That's plenty to use for the Night of Navy, in my case, matted piece behind the DSP panel and the circle behind the stitched circle. I hope your eyes aren't rolling too much with all those measurements - lol.
The Granny Apple Green square is embossed with the "oh so popular" Subtle embossing folder. I've used this lovely shade of green again for the stamped sentiment, leaves and scalloped circle.
The sentiments and images are from the Petal Palette stamp set. I checked the colour coach and saw the combination of Night of Navy and Real Red with the Granny Apple Green, but I couldn't see where I would use the red so I left it out.
The DSP is one of the patterns from the Garden Impressions 6" x 6" pack and the bow is made from the 1/2" Gingham Ribbon.
I initially stamped the bird directly onto the Stitched Shapes Circle Framelit but thought it looked too flat, so I stamped him, or her, again and die-cut with the coordinating thinlit and popped it up with dimensionals. I added a few rhinestones for some sparkle.
Inside the card I added a 1/2" strip of the DSP to the bottom and heat embossed the sentiment in white embossing powder and then I added the left over outer circle from the stitched circle on the front of the card. I already had this larger circle from a previous project that I didn't use, so I popped that in my scrap bag and it was just what I needed for tonight's card.
To write in the card I thought I might use our chalk marker, or a metallic gel pen, or add a piece of whisper white cardstock to the top of the inside, I haven't decided yet.
Now it's time to head over to Catherine's blog to see what the rest of the Art with Heart team have made for tonight's hop.
I'm sure their creations will make us all Granny Apple Green with envy!
