AWH Team - Colour Creations Week 3 - Bermuda Bay

Hi everyone & welcome to another week of colour inspiration from the Art With Heart Stampin' Up! Team.

This is Week 3 of our Colour Creations Showcase and the featured colour is Bermuda Bay.
This gorgeous bright and bold colour is from our Brights Collection.

Tonight I've teamed it with Night of Navy and Coastal Cabana for a monochromatic colour palette.

Here is my card.

I've used the outline poppy dies from the Poppy Moments Dies and cut them in Bermuda Bay and Night of Navy. The poppy centres are also cut using dies from the same set and I embellished with a rhinestone and basic pearls.

I ran a piece of Coastal Cabana cardstock through the Subtles 3D Embossing Folder and then cut with a scalloped rectangle die from the Stitched So Sweetly Dies. I then punched out the ribbon notches with the Detailed Trio Punch and added a length of the 1/4" Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon. Then I cut two shorter lengths and tied them in a double knot. Originally I'd made a bow, but decided on just the knot instead. Next I added the large poppy with glue dots and a tiny bit of tombow glue behind the smaller one. I didn't glue down the petals.

The sentiment is from the Ornate Thanks stamp set and I used a Stitched Rectangles die to crop it.
The die is actually shorter than the sentiment so I partially cut it out and then re-aligned to cut the remaining end. I stamped in Night of Navy ink.
I glued this Coastal Cabana panel to a piece of Bermuda Bay cardstock that I had cut with a die from the Ornate Layers dies. I stamped the large 'splash' image in Bermuda Bay and Night of Navy ink. It's from the Peaceful Moments stamp set. This panel was then glued to a rectangle of Whisper White cardstock that I embossed with the Subtle 3D EF and then added to the WW card base.

I kept the inside clean and simple with strips of embossed Bermuda Bay and Night of Navy cardstock.

I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of the team's Bermuda Bay projects. Let's start with our host, Catherine, and then hop to each of the blogs using the participant list at the end of her post.

  3. Really gorgeous card and colour combination Caroline - I love how you've used the Poppy set in such an original way and also used a stamp i've totally overlooked to create that great splash effect on your card stock. Thank you so much for joining the AWH Colour Creations showcase to provide some Bermuda Bay colour inspiration xx

  4. So pretty, Caroline. Lots of lovely texture and details to look at. I like that you stamped the background "splotchy" image only on part of the card; nice effect!

  5. Great card Caroline. Your choice of colours is lovely and the way you have combined all the details is so good. I haven't used the Trio Punch oval on a card to hold ribbon in place - great idea. Must give it a go. X
