AWH Team - Colour Creations Week 4 - Blackberry Bliss

Hello & welcome everyone.

Here we are with Week 4 of the Colour Creations Showcase from the Art With Heart Team.

Tonight's featured colour is Blackberry Bliss from the Regals Collection.  This gorgeous, rich deep dark colour is so true to its name. I decided to team it with two softer colours - Pool Party and Highland Heather for my project. Both of these colours are from the Subtles Collection, but they compliment the richness of Blackberry Bliss so perfectly.

Here is my card.

This was my first proper attempt at watercolouring. I decided to start with something really simple, hence the stripes. I think I'm hooked! It was so easy and so much fun - even though they are just stripes. I cannot wait to add the new Water Painters to my next Stampin' Up! order. You get three brushes in the set. A fine tip, medium tip, and a large flat brush. I know that I am going to have some fun using and experimenting with them!

Anyway, back to my card.  The stripes are water coloured in Blackberry Bliss, and I just love the soft and pretty colour I ended up with. I used thick Whisper White cardstock and after brushing on the first strokes, I went over it again in some areas to get the darker shades. I speeded up the drying process by using my heat tool. Next, it was time to decorate!
It has been awhile since my Well Written die set saw the light of day, so it was time to get them out and show them some love. This die set has some really great words as well as a bird and butterfly and some floral elements too. It coordinates with the Well Said stamp set.

Well Written Dies.

Out of the die set I used the little bird and the 'thanks' and these were both cut out of Blackberry Bliss cardstock. Also from the set I cut out the stems with leaves in Pool Party, and the flowers from Highland Heather. I cut six flowers in total and glued two together for the three flowers you see on the card. I added a silver Metallic Pearl to each of the centres. I used some retired adhesive sheet to attach these die-cuts to a Stitched Rectangles die. I'm happy to tell you that we have Adhesive Sheets available again. You will find them on page 162 of the new Annual Catalogue. They are the perfect adhesive to use on very fine die-cuts, making it so easy to add them to your projects. To a smaller Stitched Rectangle, I added the bird and two hearts. The hearts are from the Stitched Be Mine die set and I have cut them out of the absolutely gorgeous new Brass Foil Sheets. The beautiful quality of this new foil is amazing and it has an almost glass finish to it. It's simply gorgeous!
Both of the Stitched Rectangles have been dry embossed with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder.
Before I added the Stitched Rectangles I wound a length of the Forever Greenery Gold Trim around the striped panel and ended it with a bow. I stamped the sentiment from the Lovely You stamp set in Blackberry Bliss ink directly onto this panel, added the die-cut 'thanks', and then glued the entire piece onto the Whisper White card base.

You can see the brass foil hearts better in this photo above.

Inside the card I added a strip of the Blackberry Bliss water coloured stripes, and another little bird and heart.

I had so much fun making this card for tonight's Colour Creations Showcase. And I know that I'm going to have more fun by hopping to each of the team's blogs and seeing their Blackberry Bliss creations. You can hop along with me and the rest of the team by clicking on Catherine's blog link below.

Thanks for stopping by.

See you again next week for another Colour Creations Showcase from the Art With Heart Stampin' Up! Team.
