Heart of Christmas - October 2020

Hello and welcome everyone.

It's the third Monday of October and time for the Heart of Christmas from the Art With Heart team. We hope that you'll find lots of festive inspiration from all of tonight's projects.

Here is the first of my two cards.

I was so excited to receive my pack of Trimming The Town Designer Series Paper. It's just one of the Designer Paper packs available in our Stampin' Up! DSP Sale for the month of October.

The reason I was so excited about this pack is because you can make Christmas cards and projects, just by simply trimming and die-cutting images straight from the patterns of DSP, even the sentiments! There's no stamping required! The houses, wreath and trees were cut out using the coordinating Home Together Dies, and the sentiment was trimmed out with my paper snips from a sheet of sentiments and greetings.

The wreath is popped up with a dimensional for added depth, and I tied the tiniest of bows from the gold twine that's part of the Forever Greenery combo pack. The windows looked too stark and bare, so I added some colour with my light Balmy Blue Stampin' Blend marker.

Inside, I decorated with a square and strips of DSP and the Whisper White writing panel was cropped with a Stitched So Sweetly die.

The house and trees were adhered to two Stitched So Sweetly rectangles in Poppy Parade and Whisper White card stock. I dry embossed the Poppy Parade with the Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder. Then I glued it all to the matted panel.

Here is card 2.

On this card I've turned the embossed Stitched So Sweetly rectangles on their end to accommodate the taller house. Again, I dry embossed the Poppy Parade with the Bricks & Mortar EF, and the Pool Party with the Subtle 3D EF.

I've popped up the sentiment with a narrow strip of dimensionals that I cut with my paper snips, and I added dimensionals to pop up the whole panel this time onto the matted square. The tiny bow on the wreath was made with the Poppy Parade ribbon from the combo pack of coordinating trim called All The Trimmings.

Here's a pic of the inside.

I love the Misty Moonlight snowflake pattern. Instead of a Whisper White writing panel, I chose Pool Party for something different and it's one of the colours in the DSP.

Once all the die-cutting was done, these cards were quick and fun to put together.

Well that's it from me tonight everyone. Thanks for stopping by.

Our lovely team member, Judy May, is hosting the Heart of Christmas for 2020.

Judy will have a list of tonight's participants on her blog. I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of the team's Christmas projects.

Stay safe and well. See you all again soon.

  5. Oh yes, this is one of my favourite suites too. I love your cards and the fact that the images can be die cut from the DSP, makes it so easy! Love your combinations of product.

  6. Fabulous cards Caroline. I love them both. I bought the brick and mortar embossing folder ages ago and have never used it. You have certainly persuaded me that I need to use it. It is a perfect and inspired choice as a background to these dear little houses.
