AWH Team - Colour Creations Week 21 - Highland Heather

Hello and welcome everyone.

It's Week 21 of the Colour Creations Showcase from the Art With Heart team.
Tonight, we are shining the spotlight on Highland Heather.

Highland Heather is from the Subtles Collection of Stampin' Up! colours.
I used the Stampin' Up! colour coach for suggested colours to combine with Highland Heather, with the addition of Crumb Cake this is what I ended up with.

And, here is my card.

I recently bought the Quite Curvy Bundle which is an early release bundle from the upcoming Jan-June 2021 Mini Catalogue. As demonstrators, we were able to pre-order these new release products this month, but customers only have to wait until the 3rd of November to purchase them.

Once again, I found that I only had a few pieces of card stock to play with, so I had to use it wisely.
For the lower half of the card, I die cut strips of Highland Heather card stock with the dotty edged curvy die, leaving the top strip with the clean edge.

There's a little leaf stamp in the Quite Curvy stamp set and I stamped this in Highland Heather ink on the top and bottom strips. Then I stamped onto Whisper White card stock and cut out with the coordinating die.

The sweet little birds were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. When this dried, I water coloured the body of the birds with Highland Heather and Blackberry Bliss classic ink, and the wings with my light and dark Crumb Cake Stampin' Blend markers. Each of them were cut out with their coordinating dies. I brushed Wink of Stella on the birds for extra sparkle.

I heat embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder, added the gorgeous sheer ribbon Pool Party bow and finished with three Coastal Cabana Holiday Rhinestones, because they are so close in colour to Pool Party.

The die cut layout was added to a piece of Whisper White card stock that I dry embossed with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder and glued to the card front. I only partially embossed to just under the the top of the sentiment strip, leaving the space between the two die cut strips, plain.

Well that's it from me tonight everyone, thanks for stopping by.

I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of the team's Highland Heather projects.
Our lovely hostess Catherine, has a list of all tonight's participants on her blog.

Stay safe and well. See you all again soon.
