Hello and welcome everyone.
It's Week 45 of the Colour Creations Showcase from the Art With Heart team.
Tonight, members of the team are sharing projects featuring Seaside Spray. This lovely soft blue is a member of the retiring In Colours for 2019-2021, and the last of these five colours that we'll be showcasing.
In 2019 our youngest son got engaged and only just recently celebrated an engagement party with family and friends. This was the card I made for the happy occasion.
You can imagine my joy at not only the engagement and the upcoming beach wedding, but finding the perfect suite of products in the Jan-June Mini Catalogue to create this card. Also, all but three of the products will carry over into the new Annual Catalogue for 2021-2022, so we can continue to create Sand & Sea projects!
I can proudly say that I have used every product in this suite on my card. It’s not often I can make that statement but that’s only because Stampin’ Up! make it so easy to mix and match all of their wonderful products.
Additional products are some silver foil, the stitched rectangle die-cut and the white embossed sentiment from the Art Gallery stamp set. I’ll have a list of all the products I’ve used on the card at the end of this blog post.
Because the pearlescent paper is wider than the Seashells 3D Embossing Folder I ran the left side through my embossing machine first and then finished embossing the right side. I placed the top cutting plate over the top of the EF so that it was aligned with the side edge of it.
Then I moved the pearlescent paper to the next side to be embossed and repeated the action with the cutting plate. This way I eliminated getting a crease in the centre of the paper so that it looked liked one continuous pattern.
It is recommended to run the embossing folder through your machine with the folded or joined edge at the top, but this wasn't possible for me to do given that the paper was wider to begin with.
The Seaside Shells stickers also have a lovely pearlescent shine to them. For a bit more of a 3D look, I layered about four stickers on top of each other with the starfish and clam shell. And aren't those Opal Rounds so pretty and sparkly!
On the inside of the card I decorated with a foil backed strip of the same DSP that I used on the front of the card and two more shell stickers. Here again I layered three of the pink shell stickers together for a bit more dimension. The blue shell was stamped in Seaside Spray onto the same coloured card stock and cut out with the Seaside Shell Dies. The die doesn't completely cut out the shell, but it's just a matter of grabbing your paper snips and cutting it away from the main piece. The sentiment was heat embossed in white.
Here is a photo of our beautiful son, Matthew and his gorgeous fiancé Amy, at their engagement party.
Congratulations Matt & Amy.
