Hello and welcome to Week 3 of the Heart of Christmas from the Art with Heart Team.
It's been a while since I made a vertical slimline card, so that's exactly what I chose to make for this weeks project.
I love these non-traditional colours for Christmas. Here I've used Misty Moonlight, Polished Pink and Mint Macaron. This sweet little tree from the Perfectly Plaid stamp set was heat embossed in white onto each of the above colours of card stock.
I used one of the watercolour shape stamps from the Dressed To Impress stamp set in the matching ink colours before embossing the panel with the Tasteful Textile 3D embossing folder. The card stock is longer than the EF so I embossed the top half first, then turned it around and embossed the remaining half. I then attached it to a piece of Specialty Silver Foil, available from the new July-December 2021 Mini Catalogue on August 3rd.
I used a combination of opal rounds and basic rhinestones for that touch of Christmas sparkle. I thought it needed some stars but the only little ones I had were from the Messages Die. They do look more like flowers than stars though. I brushed Wink of Stella over them to add even more sparkle. The sentiment is also from the Perfectly Plaid stamp set. I've heat embossed in white onto Polished Pink card stock and fussy cut.
I wrapped a length of the silver Simply Elegant trim around the panel and ended with a bow. The panel is attached to the Basic White card base with dimensionals.

I really like how you grounded the trees with the "swish" stamped images in co-ordinating coloured inks, Caroline. The stars (whilst a little flower-like), definitely look like stars on your card! So pretty.
ReplyDeleteFun colour combo Caroline, and a perfectly suited layout for a slimline card. Love it!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty, Caroline, the colours just make me happy. That image below each tree had me intrigued, but how clever are you to use that stamp, it looks fantastic. Love the silver layer and bow too!
