Colour Creations Week 44 - So Saffron

Hello everyone and welcome to Week 44 of the Colour Creations blog hop from the Art with Heart Team.

This week our projects feature So Saffron - a member of the Subtles Collection of Stampin' Up! colours.

Even though So Saffron is a lovely creamy custard yellow, it's one I don't use much at all. That's why I love this weekly colour challenge blog hop where we are often taken out of our creative comfort zone.

Here's my card for Week 44.

The really sweet Count On Me stamp set was the one I reached for when I finally decided what to make. It has the cutest outline drawn animals and some lovely, heartfelt sentiments, although I chose a different sentiment from another stamp set to use on the card.

Count On Me

Using a blending brush I grabbed my So Saffron ink pad and applied some soft blending over the top of one of the Butterflies & Flowers decorative masks to add some colour and interest to the top left corner. I also blended a little So Saffron near the kangaroo. This mask was the perfect choice as it reflects the medium punched out daisies. For the centre of each daisy I used a Pierced Blooms die, and the flowers were also coloured with the blending brush.

Under the layer of vellum is a piece of So Saffron card stock - it almost looks like Pale Papaya in the photo. I love the softness that the vellum has created behind the main die cut image. I used a Stitched So Sweetly die to cut this out. The kangaroo was stamped in Crumb Cake ink onto Crumb Cake card stock and fussy cut. She's a real cutie! Her flower centre is a basic pearl and I used some faux sea glass shapes to represent some rocks on the ground. The sentiment from Eden's Garden stamp set, and the grass are stamped in Soft Suede.

There are store links to each of the Stampin' Up! products I used to create my card below.

That's it from me tonight everyone, thanks so much for stopping by. It's time to hop to the next blog to see another So Saffron project.

Rachel Palmieri, is our next creative and talented team member to share her creation with us.

As always our lovely host, Catherine Proctor, will have the full list of all tonight's participants over on her blog.

Stay safe and well. See you all again next week.

  3. I have this stamp but I've been at a bit of a loss how to use it. I'd like to give this mix of masking and image a try now. Thanks for the inspiration Caroline.
