A little birdie told me.....

Hi friends and welcome to today's blog post.

 I wanted to share with you all a birthday card I made using the 'Bird Banter' photopolymer stamp set from the Occasions Catalogue.

I have to confess that this set didn't really WOW me at first, but I absolutely LOVE this card, and now I LOVE the stamp set too!

I was searching Google images for ideas on how to colour the birds in the set, when I stumbled across this cute design layout. I've used Pool Party and Pink Pirouette on a Whisper White card base and I think these colours are so soft and pretty together. I stamped tone on tone on the three narrow strips behind the focal image using the leaf stamp and then also stamped onto the Pink Pirouette layer with Crumb Cake. I coloured the cockatoo with our Stampin' Blends, and I wanted the colours to represent our Australian galah and I'm very pleased with the results. Both the bird and greeting are stamped with the Memento black ink, which is recommended if you're colouring with the Stampin' Blends.

I coloured the Clear Epoxy Shapes with the dark Pink Pirouette Stampin' Blends marker just to add a touch of colour and I gave the bird a lovely shimmer using the Wink of Stella pen. You can really see the lovely soft sparkle on the bird in this close-up shot.  As there aren't any coordinating dies with this stamp set, I simply fussy-cut it out. Just take your time - using our paper snips makes fussy-cutting a breeze! I made a double bow out of the Silver Baker's Twine and added an Enamel Shape heart to the centre. 

I've kept the card very simple on the inside with a layer of Whisper White, the stamped sentiment and some washi tape from the Myths & Magic Suite in the Occasions Catalogue.

AWH Team - January Blog Hop - Occasions Catalogue

Hello crafting friends, it's so good to be back from a long and restful break over Christmas and the New Year celebrations. I hope everyone had a lovely time with their loved ones and friends and that 2018 will be a happy & healthy one for us all.

The project I'm sharing tonight is one that I created for my first class of the new year. I just had to make something with the gorgeous Petal Passion suite of products. Black & White may not be everyone's cup of tea, but you really have to love everything about this suite I think. From the stamp set to the DSP and dies to the embossing folders and embellishments, it is all truly beautiful. Another fantastic thing about this suite is that some of the designs in the DSP are just outline images that you can colour with our fabulous Stampin' Blends! That's a definite winner, don't you agree? 😊

Gable Box and matching card & envelope.

The card is a fun fold design featuring the gorgeous little bird as the focal image. I used Basic Black and Whisper White for the cardstock, along with Smoky Slate as this matched the silver in the Gable Box quite nicely. Some Black Shimmer ribbon made into a bow and Silver Metallic thread to represent a nest, softens the monochrome look.

On opening the flap, a sweet flower die-cut image is revealed. 

The open lacework die-cut was just the right element to add to the side of the card. And there's plenty of room inside to write your message. The addition of the scalloped circle hides the back of the tab.

Don't forget to pretty up your envelopes too, by adding some DSP to the back flap and a stamped image on the front.

I cut the DSP a 1/4" smaller for the front, back and side panels to cover the sweet little Mini Gable Box.
  Note: The Black Rhinestone Jewels are a retired product, however, our Basic Rhinestones can be coloured with a black sharpie marker.

Occasions Catalogue - Sneak Peek!

Hi crafting friends, I have just popped on today to share a quick little show & tell.

The products I've used are from a gorgeous suite in the brand new Occasions Catalogue that begins on January 3rd and ends on May 31st. The suite is called Sweet Soiree and has some fantastic coordinating products.

Merry Mistletoe Dome Christmas Card.

I took my inspiration for today's card from UK demonstrator, Angelina Clark of Intatwyne Designs, Mother's Day card; so thank you Angelina. You can see her post here.

Here is my version:

I love this card! It's luxurious and gorgeous and special and certainly has the WOW! factor happening, more especially when placed inside its presentation box that you will see below.

For me, there was no question as to what DSP I was going to use for the card. The beautiful Year of Cheer Specialty DSP from the Holiday Catalogue is a perfect choice for this card design, and this pattern in particular.

For the focal image I couldn't go past the gorgeous reindeer from the (Merry Mistletoe) stamp set, and from this set I also stamped the inside sentiment and greeting on the front of the box.

 A special card deserves a special box to present it in. This card and box is a gift in itself in my opinion.
