Casing the Catty - AWH Team June Blog Hop

Hello friends and welcome.

Tonight the Art with Heart Team are sharing creative projects CASEd from the Annual Catalogue.
If you would like a copy of the 2018-2019 Catalogue, just contact any of the girls on the blog hop and we'll get in touch with you.

To CASE means to copy and share everything, in the papercrafting world, and inspiration can come from anywhere. Just remember to always give credit to the original designer.
Inspiration for my card came from the Varied Vases stamp set on page 45 of the catalogue.
The little pink card is so sweet and my card is based on this design.

My inspiration.

I started with a piece of Powder Pink cardstock cut to 4" x 8" and scored @ 4" to create a 4" square card. I used the Lovely Floral 3D TIEF to emboss the front of the card. I didn't want to hide the beautiful embossed image with a solid panel so I stamped flower images from the Varied Vases stamp set onto a piece of vellum in Powder Pink, Lovely Lipstick and Pineapple Punch. I stuck this down on an angle with a small amount of Tombow glue just in the centre. If you put a few drops of the glue onto the vellum and smear it with your finger it's almost impossible to see where the glue is. This is a great idea if you weren't placing anything over that area to cover it on the front. There are some lovely sentiments in the stamp set too, so I stamped one of them in Memento ink onto a piece of Crumb Cake and cut this out using the banner from the Petals & More Thinlits dies. I cut another banner in Lovely Lipstick and placed this behind the sentiment, just off-setting it a little and popped them up with dimensionals. I stamped another flower and fussy cut it out and popped this up on a mini dimensional. The bow was made using the new Nature's Twine. It comes as a pack of 4, which is great value, and here I used the Crumb Cake and Grapefruit Grove. The other two colours are Blackberry Bliss and Mint Macaron.

I absolutely love the impression from the embossing on the inside of the card front. Isn't it gorgeous?! And I didn't realise that there is a butterfly on the side of the flower! Can you see it? This is such a beautiful embossing folder, I'm so pleased I bought it.
On the writing panel I stamped the scattered flowers in Powder Pink on a layer of Whisper White in opposite corners. Although it may be difficult to see, we had a very overcast day when I took the photo, I stamped first and second generation ink. It looks lovely in real life - trust me. Birthday wishes was stamped in Memento black ink.
Well that's it from me, I'm so glad you stopped by.
If you're leaving a comment below, thank you so much. I read and appreciate them all. 💗

Colour Creations Blog Hop - AWH Team

Hello friends and welcome to another instalment in our weekly Colour Creations blog hop
with the Art with Heart Team.

The star of tonight's hop is Berry Burst.

Berry Burst 6" x 6" DSP In-Colour 2017-2019

I made a confession in our May blog hop that Berry Burst was my most favourite colour from our 2017-2019 In Colours, so I'm extra excited to share my project with you all tonight.

I decided to create a card using the Lots of Happy Card Kit. The main reason for using it was that I am quite time poor this week and most of the work was already done for me.

Lots of Happy Card Kit

The kit includes 20 card bases and envelopes and lots of elements to create some gorgeous cards in different shapes and sizes, water colour pencils, a photopolymer stamp set and much more. A refill is also available - how great is that?! To read all about what is included in the kit turn to page 9 of the new catalogue. If you don't have a catalogue and would like one, please get in touch with me and I can pop one in the post for you.

The kit comes with an instruction sheet on how to complete each of the cards, but for my card I started with one of the larger card bases and then just made it up as I went along. In addition to elements from the kit, I used some Berry Burst cardstock, our Berry Burst Stampin' Write Marker the beautiful Metallic-Edge ribbon, (you guessed it), in Berry Burst and Berry Burst ink.

My altered Lots of Happy card.

The card bases in the kit are all Sahara Sand with white on the inside. I layered one of the black and white stripe panels onto a piece of Berry Burst cardstock and in each of the corners I stamped the flower spray from the stamp set that is also included in the kit. Then I took one of the printed hexagonal shapes and coloured the flowers with the Stampin' Write marker. I trimmed the points on the hexagon to a rectangle shape and I purposely left the leaves without colour and instead used the Wink of Stella to give a little touch of sparkle. Unfortunately you can't see this in the photo. Behind the flower panel I added narrow strips of BB cardstock to the top and bottom to give it some lift from the black and white stripes. Next I stuck down another of the striped elements and a gold banner and then, much to my delight, I discovered that our Tailored Tag punch works with the same shaped pop out panel in the kit. All I needed to do was trim the panel to just outside the gold border and then punched out a Berry Burst piece with the punch. So easy! I added dimensionals to the back of this.
The single flower is another pop-out piece and I stuck two dimensionals on the back so it sat higher than the sentiment. Dimensionals are included in the kit too!
To finish the front of the card I made a bow from the Metallic-Edge ribbon. So pretty!

On the inside I stamped the two flower images and added just a touch of colour, opposite to how I coloured the front of the card.

The envelopes included in the kit are gorgeous.

They are lined with the black and white stripe. Here I folded the back flap over the front so you could see the stripes. I stamped the flower spray on the front and added little hints of Berry Burst. I brushed on Wink of Stella to the leaves again, but I should have waited for the Memento Ink to dry as it did start to bleed a little, it still turned out okay though.
Well I hope you enjoyed seeing my project tonight and that you may have found some inspiration to try something a little different when using our kits.

Hop over to Catherine's blog to see her Berry Burst creation and you'll find links to our other team members blogs who joined in tonight's hop.

Enjoy!

Colour Creations Blog Hop with the AWH Team

Hello friends and welcome.
Our lovely team member, Catherine Proctor, came up with the idea of showcasing every colour in the Stampin' Up! colour collection. So each Tuesday night, members of the Art With Heart Team will share projects that we've made with the featured colour for that night. We are working our way through the colours in alphabetical order and tonight we are up to Bermuda Bay.

So sit back, relax and enjoy the Colour Creations Blog Hop
with the Art With Heart Team.

Bermuda Bay 6"x 6" DSP from the Brights Collection

Recently I was having a bit of a "blog surf" and came upon the blog of UK demonstrator Linda Parker. She shared a video on how she created a pop-up card and I thought that I'd have a try at making one myself.

I've used Linda's measurements and made this 4" x 4" card.
The base is Thick Whisper White and I've accented the Bermuda Bay with Night of Navy. It's a gorgeous colour combination.
I just love the new Tufted embossing folder! I've used it on the stitched oval and the second layer of matting. The flower image is from the 'Love What You Do' stamp set and the sentiment is from 'Varied Vases'. Lots of layering with the Layering Ovals dies and the sentiment was cut with the Classic Label punch, then I re-inserted each end and punched, and this leaves you with the flagged ends. I added some Basic Rhinestones for some bling and the Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon compliments the softness of the card.

The inside pop-up section was fun to make and decorate. I stamped another sentiment from the Varied Vases set and more of the floral images from Love What You Do. I love mixing and matching our stamp sets to create the look I want. I left the bottom panel blank for writing on.

Well that's it from me. To see more projects featuring our gorgeous Bermuda Bay, hop over to Catherine's blog to view her creation and where she has the list of the other girls who participated tonight.
