Hello friends and welcome to another instalment in our weekly Colour Creations blog hop
with the Art with Heart Team.
The star of tonight's hop is Berry Burst.
Berry Burst 6" x 6" DSP In-Colour 2017-2019
I made a confession in our May blog hop that Berry Burst was my most favourite colour from our 2017-2019 In Colours, so I'm extra excited to share my project with you all tonight.
I decided to create a card using the Lots of Happy Card Kit. The main reason for using it was that I am quite time poor this week and most of the work was already done for me.
Lots of Happy Card Kit
The kit includes 20 card bases and envelopes and lots of elements to create some gorgeous cards in different shapes and sizes, water colour pencils, a photopolymer stamp set and much more. A refill is also available - how great is that?! To read all about what is included in the kit turn to page 9 of the new catalogue. If you don't have a catalogue and would like one, please get in touch with me and I can pop one in the post for you.
The kit comes with an instruction sheet on how to complete each of the cards, but for my card I started with one of the larger card bases and then just made it up as I went along. In addition to elements from the kit, I used some Berry Burst cardstock, our Berry Burst Stampin' Write Marker the beautiful Metallic-Edge ribbon, (you guessed it), in Berry Burst and Berry Burst ink.
My altered Lots of Happy card.
The card bases in the kit are all Sahara Sand with white on the inside. I layered one of the black and white stripe panels onto a piece of Berry Burst cardstock and in each of the corners I stamped the flower spray from the stamp set that is also included in the kit. Then I took one of the printed hexagonal shapes and coloured the flowers with the Stampin' Write marker. I trimmed the points on the hexagon to a rectangle shape and I purposely left the leaves without colour and instead used the Wink of Stella to give a little touch of sparkle. Unfortunately you can't see this in the photo. Behind the flower panel I added narrow strips of BB cardstock to the top and bottom to give it some lift from the black and white stripes. Next I stuck down another of the striped elements and a gold banner and then, much to my delight, I discovered that our Tailored Tag punch works with the same shaped pop out panel in the kit. All I needed to do was trim the panel to just outside the gold border and then punched out a Berry Burst piece with the punch. So easy! I added dimensionals to the back of this.
The single flower is another pop-out piece and I stuck two dimensionals on the back so it sat higher than the sentiment. Dimensionals are included in the kit too!
To finish the front of the card I made a bow from the Metallic-Edge ribbon. So pretty!
On the inside I stamped the two flower images and added just a touch of colour, opposite to how I coloured the front of the card.
The envelopes included in the kit are gorgeous.
They are lined with the black and white stripe. Here I folded the back flap over the front so you could see the stripes. I stamped the flower spray on the front and added little hints of Berry Burst. I brushed on Wink of Stella to the leaves again, but I should have waited for the Memento Ink to dry as it did start to bleed a little, it still turned out okay though.
Well I hope you enjoyed seeing my project tonight and that you may have found some inspiration to try something a little different when using our kits.
