Colour Creations Blog Hop - AWH Team

Hello friends and welcome to another instalment in our weekly Colour Creations blog hop
with the Art with Heart Team.

The star of tonight's hop is Berry Burst.

Berry Burst 6" x 6" DSP In-Colour 2017-2019

I made a confession in our May blog hop that Berry Burst was my most favourite colour from our 2017-2019 In Colours, so I'm extra excited to share my project with you all tonight.

I decided to create a card using the Lots of Happy Card Kit. The main reason for using it was that I am quite time poor this week and most of the work was already done for me.

Lots of Happy Card Kit

The kit includes 20 card bases and envelopes and lots of elements to create some gorgeous cards in different shapes and sizes, water colour pencils, a photopolymer stamp set and much more. A refill is also available - how great is that?! To read all about what is included in the kit turn to page 9 of the new catalogue. If you don't have a catalogue and would like one, please get in touch with me and I can pop one in the post for you.

The kit comes with an instruction sheet on how to complete each of the cards, but for my card I started with one of the larger card bases and then just made it up as I went along. In addition to elements from the kit, I used some Berry Burst cardstock, our Berry Burst Stampin' Write Marker the beautiful Metallic-Edge ribbon, (you guessed it), in Berry Burst and Berry Burst ink.

My altered Lots of Happy card.

The card bases in the kit are all Sahara Sand with white on the inside. I layered one of the black and white stripe panels onto a piece of Berry Burst cardstock and in each of the corners I stamped the flower spray from the stamp set that is also included in the kit. Then I took one of the printed hexagonal shapes and coloured the flowers with the Stampin' Write marker. I trimmed the points on the hexagon to a rectangle shape and I purposely left the leaves without colour and instead used the Wink of Stella to give a little touch of sparkle. Unfortunately you can't see this in the photo. Behind the flower panel I added narrow strips of BB cardstock to the top and bottom to give it some lift from the black and white stripes. Next I stuck down another of the striped elements and a gold banner and then, much to my delight, I discovered that our Tailored Tag punch works with the same shaped pop out panel in the kit. All I needed to do was trim the panel to just outside the gold border and then punched out a Berry Burst piece with the punch. So easy! I added dimensionals to the back of this.
The single flower is another pop-out piece and I stuck two dimensionals on the back so it sat higher than the sentiment. Dimensionals are included in the kit too!
To finish the front of the card I made a bow from the Metallic-Edge ribbon. So pretty!

On the inside I stamped the two flower images and added just a touch of colour, opposite to how I coloured the front of the card.

The envelopes included in the kit are gorgeous.

They are lined with the black and white stripe. Here I folded the back flap over the front so you could see the stripes. I stamped the flower spray on the front and added little hints of Berry Burst. I brushed on Wink of Stella to the leaves again, but I should have waited for the Memento Ink to dry as it did start to bleed a little, it still turned out okay though.
Well I hope you enjoyed seeing my project tonight and that you may have found some inspiration to try something a little different when using our kits.

Hop over to Catherine's blog to see her Berry Burst creation and you'll find links to our other team members blogs who joined in tonight's hop.

Enjoy!

AWH Team - May Blog Hop - Sharing the love of our In-Colours!

Hi friends and welcome to another Blog Hop with the Art With Heart team.

Tonight the team are sharing their creative projects using the theme of In-Colours.
With our 2016-2018 retiring In-Colours, the current 2017-2019 colours and our NEW 2018-2020 In-Colours, at Stampin' Up! you are certainly spoilt for choice.
If you would like to see all of our fantastic colours and wonderful new products, just contact any of the girls on the hop for a copy of the new 2018-2019 Catalogue.

For my projects, I chose to feature colours from our current collection.

If you asked me if I had a favourite colour from the 2017-2019 collection, my answer would be Berry Burst. It is such a vibrant, deep crimson colour. The card above is the one I made for my mum for Mother's Day last Sunday. I chose a pattern from the Sweet Soiree Specialty DSP which has two of the In-Colours in it, being Berry Burst and Powder Pink. The gorgeous Berry Burst Metallic-Edge Ribbon really enhances the silver foil lettering and it makes the whole card pop! A little bit of fussy cutting, some beautiful new pearls and a Berry Burst sentiment finish the card front.

Inside the card I attached a strip of the DSP to the writing panel and another fussy cut flower sprig.

This next card features my second favourite colour - Lemon Lime Twist.

This is the same layout as my first card except this time I ran the letters through the Scattered Sequins Dynamic TIEF, I really love this effect. As on my first card I have used some Metallic-Edge ribbon, this time in Whisper White, that I wrapped around a panel of Fresh Florals DSP and Lemon Lime Twist cardstock. I silver embossed the sentiment and added a few rhinestones for some extra sparkle.

Inside I stamped a sentiment and the flower motif, from the 'Floral Phrases' stamp set, and cut it out with a stitched shape circle die, and again I added a strip of the DSP. I made this card for a very special 'mother figure' in my life and she loved it.

Below is the third and last of my cards and it features all of the 2017-2019 In-Colours.

On this card I have combined retiring products with new. 'Varied Vases' is a stamp set that will be available in the new Stampin' Up! catalogue and it has a coordinating punch. Here I have stamped the vase in Tranquil Tide, the tulips in Berry Burst, Powder Pink and Fresh Fig and the stems and leaves in Lemon Lime Twist. I used another pattern from the Fresh Florals DSP and some more of the gorgeous ribbon. The birthday sentiment is stamped - you guessed it - in Berry Burst and is just one of the sentiments from the stamp set. I have to confess that I rarely use the Delicate Doilies, but I'm so glad I did on this card. I brushed on a little Wink of Stella to the tulips and added a couple of the Glitter Enamel Dots to the stitched shape circle.

And here's the inside.

Thank you for joining us on our hop tonight. If you're already hopping you may have come to me from the lovely Ros Davidson, but hops are full circles so you can start anywhere and keep clicking the 'next blog' button at the end of each post to end up back where you started.

Now it's time to hop over and see what the lovely and talented Sharon Davern has created.

If you find a broken link or have come to this blog hop from a different entry point, here is a list of tonight's participants.

Until next time.....

Happy Wedding Day!

Hello again friends and welcome to today's blog post.

In my last post, I shared a card I had made for a new baby, and today I'm sharing a couple of wedding cards with you. No matter what the occasion or celebration, Stampin' Up! have everything you need to create beautiful projects.

So lets get started!

This is the first card I made for a very special wedding my husband John and I attended, and in hind-sight I think I would have liked a matt of gold foil behind the DSP panel, but it's still a beautiful card, and I'm very happy with the end result.

With all the excitement that comes with Sale-A-Bration and the Occasions Catalogue, it's easy to forget the wonderful stamp sets and DSP in our Annual Catalogue, so I decided to give some of these products a bit of lovin'.

Bundle of Love Specialty Designer Series Paper

I have used the gorgeous Bundle of Love Specialty DSP. It has gold foil designs on one side and Soft Sky and Blushing Bride on the other. Both sides of the paper are accented with Very Vanilla. It's such a versatile patterned paper and perfect for any occasion card. The stamp set I used is 'Beautiful Bouquet' and it is a stunning set with beautiful matching sentiments for outside and in. I did use a retired SU crimper for the vanilla heart, but the hearts are cut with the Sweet & Sassy Framelits, and the gold metallic-edge ribbon and metallic enamel heart shapes are perfect embellishments. I'll have a full list of supplies and products used, at the end of my post.

Inside the card I created an embossed vellum pocket to hold our monetary gift but you could fit a gift card inside easily.

This is such a lovely sentiment.

Of course I had to make an envelope for such a special card.
Front of the envelope.

Back of the envelope.

The second card I'm sharing today is one of two that I was asked to make by one of my new class attendees and I have to confess this is my favourite out of the two. Unfortunately I forgot to take a photo of the first card!

On this card I have used the coordinating Bouquet Bunch Framelits. Don't you just love a matching stamp and die set?! - I know I do!
I stamped the same sentiment inside as I did in the card above and again, made the matching envelope on the EPB.

 Front of the envelope

and the back.

I really enjoyed creating these cards, it's so nice to get the creative juices flowing. There is truly something very special about handmade cards from the heart.

Oh, and a quick P.S. - all of the stamping is heat embossed in gold.

Well friends, that's where I'll leave you today. I hope you all have a wonderful day and enjoy some crafting time soon.

Until next time...
Stay happy & stay crafty! 😘
