Hi everyone, welcome back to another week in our Colour Creations blog hop with the Art with Heart team. We're up to Week 36 and our colour tonight is, Petal Pink.
Petal Pink 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper - Subtles Collection
When I'm searching for a pink to go with a project idea, I have to confess, that this fleshy pink is not one I go to first. In fact, it's one I rarely use, but I will say, that I really love how this little card turned out for our colour hop tonight.
I'm sure it helped that I chose to make my absolute favourite card size, which is a 4 1/8" square card.
I stamped a butterfly from the Butterfly Gala stamp set using my tuxedo black memento ink, and then using the body filler stamps from the set, I stamped the top wings in petal pink and stamped off to get a lighter colour for the bottom wings. After stamping, I realised that I had my Stampin' Blend markers in petal pink, so I used both light and dark markers over the original colour stamping. This gave me a look I was much happier with. I used the colour lifter marker to lighten some areas in the bottom wings for more of a contrast.
Here is a look from a different angle.
I attached the butterfly to a circle that I embossed with the Subtles 3D TIEF and layered a scalloped circle of petal pink behind this. The centre back of the butterfly was attached with glue dots and the top and bottom wings have a mini dimensional under each of them. I stamped the antennae after I stuck the butterfly down.
I added a rhinestone that I coloured in with my stampin' blends dark petal pink marker.
The champagne foil compliments the fleshy pink colour really nicely, and I used it here as my first mat and then behind the sentiment using a die from the Needlepoint Elements Framelits. The sentiment is from the butterfly gala stamp set and I cut this out using one of the fantastic Rectangle Stitched Framelits Dies, and this I backed with a piece of petal pink cardstock.
Because I stamped the butterfly and sentiment in tuxedo black ink, I thought I would use the basic black 3/8" Shimmer Ribbon, and just wrap it around the Lace TIEF embossed panel.
On the inside of the card, I added a 1/2" strip of petal pink cardstock that I randomly stamped the smaller butterfly onto in tuxedo black ink.
Well, that's it from me tonight, thanks for stopping by.
