AWH Team - Colour Creations Week 38 - Pumpkin Pie

Hello and welcome everyone.

It's Week 38 of the Colour Creations Showcase from the Art With Heart team.
Our featured colour this week is Pumpkin Pie from the Regals Collection of Stampin' Up! colours.

For this weeks colour challenge I decided to make two cards.
This first card is a very simple 'thinking of you' card with lots of white space. If you hadn't already guessed, I love white space on cards, especially square cards.

I've had my Pierced Blooms dies out again this week. The layering of these fun flowers is almost endless in design. There are so many different dies to mix and match and create your own unique blooms.

Pierced Blooms Dies - Jan-June Mini Catalogue.

From the In Bloom stamp set, the stem and centre vein on the leaves are stamped in full strength Crumb Cake ink, the leaves themselves are second generation - meaning, I stamped off once and then stamped the image with the remaining ink left on the stamp. This gives a lighter shade of that colour.

On the left side of the Basic White panel, I scored five vertical lines. You can see them quite clearly in the photo above, underneath the linen thread.

The sentiment is from the Art Gallery stamp set and I heat embossed it in gold. I've cut it out using one of the label dies from the Always Dies set. I couldn't resist using some Wink Of Stella for extra sparkle on the petals and leaves, and to share the spotlight with that gorgeous gold gem centre.

I added just a little stitched scalloped trim on the inside.

Here's card #2.

I am hopeless at arranging flowers. I'm so envious of people who can put them in a vase and make them look as though they have come straight from a florist shop. It's the same with paper flowers, so I was desperate for some inspiration in arranging these gorgeous pierced blooms on my second card, and that came courtesy of Pinterest. It's such a great resource if you're stuck for ideas.

Again, I scored five lines on the basic white panel except this time they're at the bottom of the card. They are really hard to see in the photo, but they add a bit of interest because I don't have any other dry embossing on the two cards.

The sentiment is another one from the Art Gallery stamp set. This time I stamped it in Early Espresso and used the three different sized labels from the Always Dies set. The flower centres are champagne rhinestones.

I think the colour combinations work so well together.
What do you think?

The colours I've teamed with Pumpkin Pie are, Crushed Curry, Rich Razzleberry, Shaded Spruce, Granny Apple Green and Crumb Cake. I'll have a list of all the products I've used on my cards at the end of this blog post.

Well, that's it from me tonight everyone. Thanks for stopping by.
I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of the team's Pumpkin Pie projects.

Our lovely hostess Catherine, will have a list of tonight's participants over on her blog.

See you all again soon. Stay safe and well.

  2. Beautiful cards Caroline. I love your use of the Pierced Blooms with Pumpkin Pie. Your attention to detail is always amazing - the scored lines and Linen twine is just gorgeous. Like you, I can't arrange flowers, so I love single flower arrangements. The floral arrangement of your second card is delightful - great balance. xxx

  7. Caroline your cards are some of the best I have seen (if not the best) made with these incredible dies. The Rich Razzleberry is the perfect complement to the Pumpkin Pie and the use of the neutral Crumb Cake ties it all together. Just lovely.
