AWH Team - Colour Creations Week 46 - Shaded Spruce

Hello and welcome everyone.

It's Week 46 of the Colour Creations Showcase from the Art With Heart team.
Tonight, members of the team are sharing projects featuring Shaded Spruce. This lovely emerald green is a member of the Regals Collection of Stampin' Up! colours.

I decided to use the Quite Curvy Bundle for this weeks card. I'd forgotten how beautiful the images in the stamp set are, so it was time to have a play and here is my card.

I really enjoyed colouring in the stamped images with my Stampin' Blends. I used the combo packs of Shaded Spruce, Rich Razzleberry and Balmy Blue. Unfortunately the Rich Razzleberry blends have sold out, but you could still use a Blender Pen and the Rich Razzleberry ink pad to add colour to the flowers. You could also use the blender pens with our watercolour pencils. We're so lucky to have lots of different mediums for colouring.

I used the coordinating Curvy Dies to cut out the flowers and birds. I love when we have the matching dies to stamp sets as I'm not that great at fussy-cutting and I confess it's not that relaxing for me either! Are you a fussy-cutter?

Quite Curvy Bundle from the Stampin' Up! Mini Catalogue.

I cut two Layering Circles in Basic White and Shaded Spruce to mount the little birds on. They are so cute and look really sweet coloured in Balmy Blue. I added some sponged colour from the Shaded Spruce ink pad to the Basic White circle with our beautiful Blending Brushes.

The brushes are so soft and lovely to work with. I love adding colour this way and the soft shading you can achieve with the technique. The sentiment is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black.

The Tasteful Textile 3D EF provided some lovely texture on the white matted piece behind all of the focal images. I do miss using my favourite Subtle 3D embossing folder though, but you never know, I might come to love this one just as much.

I used one of the curvy shaped dies to create this border on the inside of the card, then I stamped the small leaf image in Shaded Spruce.

I wrapped a length of the beautiful white crinkle ribbon around the matted pieces and tied a bow. It added another level of softness to the look of the design. I tried a few different rhinestones before settling on the basic rhinestone jewels for a touch of sparkle.
I'll have a list of all the products I've used on my card at the end of this blog post.

Well, that's it from me tonight everyone. Thanks for stopping by.
I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of the teams Shaded Spruce projects.

Our lovely hostess Catherine, will have a list of tonight's participants over on her blog.

Stay safe and well. See you all again soon.

  1. Such beautiful use of the lovely Curvy Dies, Caroline. I forget about the bird and floral spray dies - they're delightful! I don't mind fussy cutting, but do love a good die! Your card is gorgeous. All the white space complements Shaded Spruce so well.
