AWH Team - Colour Creations Week 48 - So Saffron

Hello and welcome everyone.

It's Week 48 of the Colour Creations Showcase from the Art With Heart team.
Our featured colour tonight is So Saffron. This lovely, creamy soft yellow is from the Subtles Collection of Stampin' Up! colours.

I still can't believe that after almost 6 years of being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator and a couple of years before that of being a customer, I still do not own a So Saffron ink pad!
Do you have all of the Stampin' Up! colours?

Despite that fact, I still managed to make a card showcasing this lovely buttercup yellow because there are so many other So Saffron products available to choose from.

And without further ado - here's my card.

As you could probably imagine, participating in a weekly team blog hop I've accumulated quite a stash of cards, but my pile of 'thank you' cards is a little low, so this weeks card is just that - a thank you card.

I love it when you can use different images from a stamp set that aren't the main focus. In this case, I've used the Kangaroo & Company stamp set from the mini catalogue.

Kangaroo & Company Bundle.

I love the mumma kangaroo and the little roo's are extra cute. But for my card I've just used the bunch of flowers and the perfectly matched 'thanks a bunch' sentiment - oh, and the butterfly too.

I stamped the images and sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured with Stampin' Blends. I used light and dark So Saffron for the flowers, the same for the butterflies with Smoky Slate for the body and a blender pen and Pear Pizzazz stamp pad for the leaves.

In the photo above you can see the transparent centres of the open petal flowers. I did this by adding tiny drops of fine-tip glue to each one. I've cut everything out with their coordinating dies. The sentiment is popped up with dimensionals.

I wanted some soft shading behind the die-cut images but because I don't have a So Saffron ink pad I used Bumblebee instead and a light touch with our beautiful blending brushes. I layered this onto a piece of So Saffron card stock.

I haven't used an embossing folder but I did want a bit of texture so I added scored lines to the left of the top Basic White panel by using the Simply Scored scoring board. Then I wrapped some Linen Thread around it a few times, finishing with a bow and an additional bow of white twine. The three gold gems were the perfect finishing touch.

 Here's the inside.

I'll have a full list of all the products I've used on my card at the end of this blog post.

That's it from me tonight everyone. Thanks for stopping by.
I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of the team's So Saffron projects. And, thanks to our lovely hostess Catherine you can check them all out too by using this link:

Stay safe and well. See you all again soon.
