AWH Team Colour Creations Blog Hop - Week 3 Basic Gray

Hello and welcome everyone.

It's Week 3 of the Colour Creations Blog Hop from the Art With Heart team.
This week our featured colour is Basic Gray from the Neutrals Collection of Stampin' Up! colours.

For this week's card I've used the stamps and dies from the Color & Contour Bundle.

Stampin' Up! Color & Contour Bundle

What first drew my attention to this bundle was the gorgeous Scalloped Contour Dies. I am a pushover for anything with a scalloped edge so these dies just had to go in my shopping basket!

Then of course there is the coordinating Color & Contour stamp set. The line-art images and the font chosen for the sentiments are just beautiful. It's so simple and easy to create with this bundle and that's why I ended up creating a clean and simple design for my card.

Another thing I love about this stamp set is that you can colour the flowers and leaves with any of our colour mediums. Stampin' Blends, markers, and watercolour pencils just to name a few. Or, you can use the fill-in stamps that come in the set which is what I have done.

I stamped the outline with Basic Gray and filled in the blooms with Magenta Madness and die cut with the coordinating die. Before adding the flowers I used second generation Basic Gray ink to stamp the splatters, it gave a lovely soft effect. I popped the die-cut up using a combination of both regular and mini Stampin' Dimensionals.

The sentiment I chose was heat embossed with white embossing powder and I used the smallest of the scalloped dies to cut it out. This is also popped up with dimensionals.

Inside the card I stamped just the flower heads in Basic Gray and second generation Magenta Madness to fill in. I didn't want to use the whole sentiment which reads 'thank you for everything' so I only inked the 'thank you' and used my Simply Shammy to remove excess ink before stamping.

The ribbon is the new Polished Pink open weave ribbon which appears to match Magenta Madness perfectly! I used a glue dot to attach it to the stem and here's a tip on how I got the ribbon ends to stay in place. I used a toothpick and our multipurpose liquid glue to add tiny dots of the glue to the satin edges, just at the very ends. Lastly, I added three silver Metallic Pearls.

I'll have a full list of all the products I've used on my card at the end of this blog post. If you have any questions about the card or anything else Stampin' Up! related please don't hesitate to get in touch with me.

That's it from me tonight everyone, thanks for stopping by.
