Colour Creations Week 7 - Bumblebee

Hello and welcome to Week 7 of the Colour Creations Blog Hop from the Art with Heart Stampin' Up! team.

Taking centre stage tonight is Bumblebee - one of the In Colours of 2020-2022.

On its own, Bumblebee is a colour I'm not that fond of - give me Daffodil Delight any day. Maybe it's the earthy or mustard hue I don't like. But, when it's combined with other colours such as Calypso Coral, Evening Evergreen, Fresh Freesia and Polished Pink from the Pansy Petals Designer Series Paper, then I kind of like it a bit more.

Anyway - onto the card.

I had a request from one of my lovely Facebook followers, to create an easel card for my next Facebook LIVE and this is what I came up with. She sent me a photo of one she had seen somewhere, Pinterest I think, and it was an easel spinner card. I'll certainly get to work on that one for next week's LIVE tutorial but in the meantime I needed a card to share for tonight's blog hop.

The card measures 11" x 4 1/2" and scored @ 3 3/4" & 7 1/2".

I have square envelopes measuring 5 1/8" and it fits perfectly inside one of them. I just love how the flower looks as if it's floating!

I've used the Color & Contour Bundle to create the heat embossed flower and the scalloped border stopper. The sentiment, also heat embossed, is from the Plentiful Plants stamp set and cropped with a stitched rectangle die.

Inside, there is heaps of space for writing your personal message. To hide the glue from behind the focal flower, I cut another one from the dsp. I had to cut from the other pattern side so the shape matched when I turned it over. The underside of die-cuts can be a little rough so I smoothed it over with the flattened bottom end of my bone folder.

The sentiment is stamped on Soft Succulent card stock. It's a lovely contrast to the yellow tones. The bling is Evening Evergreen rhinestones.
