Colour Creations Week 9 - Calypso Coral

Hello and welcome to Week 9 of the Colour Creations Blog Hop from the Art with Heart Team.

We are shining the spotlight on Calypso Coral this week, a member of the Subtles Collection of Stampin' Up! colours.

After a day of feeling a "bit off" on Monday, prepping and making samples yesterday for my Facebook LIVE last night - I finally managed to create a card for this week's Colour Creations blog hop.

Imagine my disappointment when I had another look at my card this morning only to discover that I'd put the frame on upside down. Let's just say thank goodness for the invention of the good old 'Stanley knife'! The scalloped edge stitched rectangle frame is attached with dimensionals so it was easy to slide the blade underneath and remove it without causing any damage - phew!!!

I recently received the Sweet Symmetry Designer Series Paper in an order, (currently on SALE until the 2nd August), and I have to say that the catalogue photo does not do this paper pack justice! IRL the colours are beautiful and vibrant and the patterns are simply gorgeous! Even better, Calypso Coral is one of the featured colours, and an easy choice to use it on this weeks card.

Sweet Symmetry Designer Series Paper 15% off until August 2nd.

In the same BBB was the Floral Squares Dies. I've had my eye on these for ages. I finally ordered them and I'm so glad I did! They are such fun and I've really enjoyed playing with them and coming up with different ways of using them.

Floral Squares Dies © Stampin' Up!

To create the flower on my card, I simply cut the Pear Pizzazz leaves away from one of the frames and then I used the largest of the two blossom dies, and cut it from Calypso Coral. The leaves are glued directly to the Tasteful Textile 3D embossed mat and the bloom is attached with dimensionals.

I decorated the inside with a mat of Basic White and scalloped top and bottom borders of DSP and card stock in Calypso Coral.

The sentiment is stamped in Memento black ink and it's from the Many Messages stamp set. I've cut it with the narrow stitched rectangle from the All Dressed Up dies and then snipped it into the two pieces. I embellished with a gold bow from the Simply Elegant trim pack and three gemstones - a gilded gem, a champagne rhinestone, and a gold metallic pearl. I love this combination of gems!

There'll be a list of the products I've used on my card below.

That's it from me tonight everyone, thanks for stopping by.
I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of the team's Calypso Coral projects. You can see them too, by simply clicking on the 'next blog' button at the end of each blog post.

The very talented Kate Morgan is up next.

If a blog link doesn't work you can view the full list of tonight's participants from the blog of our host, Catherine Proctor.

Stay safe and well. See you all again soon. 🌼
