Colour Creations Week 13 - Crumb Cake

Hello everyone and welcome to Week 13 of the Colour Creations blog hop from the Art with Heart team.

Tonight we are shining the spotlight on Crumb Cake, a member of the Neutrals Collection of Stampin' Up! colours.

Oh my beloved Crumb Cake, my favourite neutral.
I've paired it with Basic White (no surprise there) for my two cards tonight.

My first card - clean & simple.

A white card base, a Floral Squares die cut, a simple sentiment.

The Crumb Cake sentiment is from the Free As A Bird stamp set. This little stamp is the perfect size and I love the scripty lettering. The Crumb Cake die cut only needed a bit of bling to make it fancy - gold metallic pearls and linen thread.

Three simple scored lines created on the Simply Scored board. Card done! This would be an easy card for beginners to try.

Here's card 2.

There's just a bit more happening on this card.
It's a horizontal Z-fold card. I used another Floral Squares die cut that I embossed with the Tasteful Textile 3D embossing folder. I added this to a Crumb Cake Stitched So Sweetly die cut, and the same 'thank you' sentiment stamped in Crumb Cake.

I die cut the individual matching flower in Basic White and Crumb Cake. For a bit of sparkle I drew lines on each of the petals with the Wink of Stella glitter brush. Inside the centre of the white flower is a gold metallic pearl and another linen thread bow was attached to the stem.

The top panel is embossed with 'thanks' from the Thanks & Hello embossing folders pack.

There'll be a list of the products I've used on my cards below.

But, that's it from me tonight everyone, thanks for stopping by.

Join me now as I take a look at the rest of the team's Crumb Cake projects. Just click on the 'next blog' button at the end of each blog post to keep hopping around.

Up next is the very talented, Kate Morgan.

If you find a broken link, the list of all tonight's participants can be found on the blog of our lovely host and my Crumb Cake sister, Catherine Proctor.

Stay safe and well. See you all again soon. 🌼

  2. The combination of these two neutrals looks so fresh and pretty, Caroline. I especially like your second card ... the way you embossed the floral square die-cut, and layered it tone-on-tone, the inclusion of the sweet little flower on the inside, and the Wink of Stella lines you drew on.

  4. Elegant cards Caroline. I love that you have shown a simple and pretty card in the first design and the second stepped-up design particularly the embossed floral square adhered to another Crumb Cake scalloped layer for the tone on tone effect.

  5. Just stunning cards Caroline. I love how gorgeous Crumb Cake looks against the white. It looks so elegant. You really are the queen of the subtle embossing and to get it in on the second one after having the bold embossing element, clever and perfect. Love how you flipped the Z-fold on its side. 2 Beautiful cards

  7. Lovely cards, Caroline. I love your first easy design. It may be simple, but so effective with those scored stripes down the side. Your stepped up card is lovely too, with the embossed elements and the crisp white flower just pops!
