Colour Creations Week 14 - Crushed Curry

Hello and welcome to Week 14 of the Colour Creations Blog Hop from the Art with Heart team.

Our projects this week feature Crushed Curry from the Regals Collection of Stampin' Up! colours.

Instead of using this rich warm yellow as a solid colour, I decided to add it to Basic White with a Blending Brush for a softer look.

Once all the pieces were cut to make up the 3D peony rose from the Peony Dies, I grabbed a Blending Brush, my Crushed Curry ink pad and set to work adding colour. Then it was just a matter of putting them all together to create the rose.

I added colour to the vellum doily and directly to the card front using the blending brush, and I've also stamped the lattice stamp from the coordinating Prized Peony stamp set. Splatters of colour help to fill the white areas. All this was done to the single layer card front. There's no matting, but I did score two diagonal lines for more depth and interest.

Do you love the leaves?
I just couldn't resist using the gorgeous Be Dazzling Sale-a-bration freebie for them! You can get your hands on this AMAZING specialty paper too with a qualifying order (only until 30 September 2021).
I used the gold twine from the Simply Elegant trim pack and some of the Pale Papaya In Colour ribbon for the lovely loopy bows. I cut the satin edge away from the ribbon, and it leaves these beautiful silky threads that really add to the look. Three gilded gems finish off the embellishing. The sentiment is stamped in Soft Suede and is from the Pansy Patch stamp set.

Here's what I did on the inside.

I can't believe I waited this long to create the 3D rose. I have used other dies from the set and I did tinker a bit with the rose, but I had never used it on a card before. I'm so glad I finally did!

There'll be a list of the products I used on my card below.

That's it from me tonight everyone, thanks for stopping by.

  8. I don't usually like cards made with the peony Caroline, but I really like yours. I think it is the way you have added colour to the flower, and then extended that colour above and below. Very nice.
