Hello everyone and welcome to Week 20 of the Heart of Christmas blog hop from members of the Art with Heart Stampin' Up! Team.
I have seen quite a few of these Fun-Fold cards on YouTube and Pinterest, so I thought I'd have a go at making one for my Wednesday Facebook LIVE last week.
And I love the result!
Even though the front of the card is lovely with all the bright, fun images of the DSP, and the sparkle from the gold glimmer paper, the real 'WOW' is on the inside!
I love the idea and I think it makes a very special gift at any time of the year for any happy occasion.
To reduce the thickness of the card when it's folded I used our regular weight Basic White card stock to make the bag. You could also make the bag in Designer Series Paper. I am loving using the Celebrate Everything (Host) 12" x 12" pack of DSP on my projects lately.
Just look at all the gorgeous gold glimmer!
It's so sparkly and compliments the pattern so well. I also added some gold Festive Pearls. The circles for the twine closure were created using a retired half inch circle punch.
To match the whimsical design of the DSP pattern I embossed a separate piece of Basic White card stock for the flap with the Whimsical Woodland 3D embossing folder from the Mini Catalogue. I used a Basic Borders die to create the stitched scalloped edges.
This Fun-Fold design works in either portrait or landscape orientation.
I can't pick a favourite. Can you?
I have thumbnail images below that show each product in more detail. The images are linked to my online store for more information.
Tina Gillespie is our next talented and creative team member to share her Heart of Christmas project with us all.
If you experience any difficulties with linking to the next blog in the hop, our lovely host Sharon Davern will have a list of all the team members who participated tonight on her blog.
Stay safe and well. See you all again soon.

ReplyDeleteWow, oh wow Caroline. Your gift card with in a card fold is amazing. I love your choice of DSP and the way you contrasted the patters with white and glimmer. Like Cathy I need to find instructions for this fold - its so gorgeous. Xxx
ReplyDeleteWhat great gift card ideas, Caroline. I love them both, but I also love how you used the scallop border die and the embossed panel on the front. The gold glimmer adds beautiful elegance too!
