Heart of Christmas - Week 6

Hello and welcome everyone.

Oh my goodness - how are we at Week 6 of the Heart of Christmas already! Time sure is flying!

Soon we will be out Christmas shopping and getting into the hustle and bustle of it all. Unless you're super organised and have already started. In which case, well done!

My project tonight can easily be whipped up in a matter of minutes, and added to your Christmas dining table as a place setting, given as a small token of appreciation to someone or even placed as a table favour at your next craft class. They are quick, easy and fun to make.

It takes just two pieces of 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper to create this sweet little box. I used a piece of Bright & Beautiful for the base and a piece of Glorious Gingham for the lid. Both pieces are in the colour of Lemon Lime Twist.

I CASE'd the box from Julie DiMatteo of The Paper Pixie. I love that it uses only a small amount of DSP, and that we have so many designs to choose from. Mixing and matching the patterns to make this box is just half the fun!

To decorate the top, I used the gorgeous little bird from the So Very Merry stamp set. This stamp set is an Online Exclusive from Stampin' Up! The line art images are perfect for colouring or just left plain as I have done after heat embossing in gold.

There's a lovely mix of sentiments and fonts too. The circular images fit the new 2 3/8" Circle Punch perfectly. To cut my image though I used a square from the Stylish Shapes die set, and it's matted with a sparkling square of More Dazzle 6" x 6" Specialty Paper.

Gold adhesive backed sequins were the perfect finishing touch and I just love that they are so easy to add to your projects!

Check out Julie's YouTube video to see how simple it is to make these cute little boxes, and have fun choosing colours and patterns of DSP to perfectly match the gift you place inside.

Thank you so much for stopping by on your way through Week 6 of our Heart of Christmas blog hop from the Art with Heart Team.
